  1. I did a fifteen minute video using Action! and it was over 2 Gigabytes. Hmm. You don't say?
  2. Thanks, I'll get a downloads admin to look into it shortly. :)
  3. Sorry Mathew but none of your maps are in the download queue yet. The only maps there are by @Crusader1307.
  4. The forum has been up for a while now, but here is a link to help folks find it easier. Please feel free to create any moderator applications in this forum from now on. Also make sure to read this announcement before applying.
  5. Moving to Stronghold 2 as the advanced discussion forums are mainly for discussion topics rather than help topics. If you do accidently post in the wrong section, you can report your post asking for it to be moved and a moderator will assist you :) No question is too stupid to ask, all questions have equal worth. You would have to add the unit skins to the archive as well as the map for the map to transfer with the skins, and this depends on exactly what you edit in the game. The skins are .dds files, and the models (3D Structure) for the units are .gr2. If you're only changing certain skins though, make sure you don't copy and paste all of them in, only the ones you've changed. By default, the skins are located: C:\Program Files (x86)\Firefly Studios\Stronghold 2\meshes\units\models If you have installed it to a custom location, you can search for it or will have to navigate there yourself. Also note that whether the folder Program Files (x86) is called that, or just Program Files will depend on whether you have a 32-bit or 64-bit operating system.
  6. Thanks. I'll check it out and update the article with the new info :)
  7. Not really. It depends on abuse accounts being disabled on the server, and the amount of other websites hosted there. I have already contacted the host; if it doesn't improve soon we're changing servers.
  8. No, the maintenance yesterday was for adding the new groups in - it's purely by coincidence at the moment, the server load is low.
  9. Are the mountains pathed out? (Just like what you do with water to stop people walking on it)
  10. Version 1.4 is unstable - you should either be using 1.3.1 or 1.4.1. The 1.4.1 update can be found in our SH2 miscellaneous downloads section.
  11. For anyone else following this thread - some of the files are now available for download here and here. A thanks is in order to @EaglePrince for submitting them!
  12. I accept anyone's friend request. In fact I don't normally check their profile first unless I'm unsure who they are. But you can easily revert it and they can't really do that much harm by friending you so I think it's easier to just accept it.
  13. It's very well written. It has the makings of a fine campaign!
  14. I didn't officially convert mine, I used Audacity's converter to do it and it worked every time. I haven't done this in a while, but have you tried one file using that? Also note that the file names must be exactly the same, (CaSe Sensitive!) otherwise the game will not allow it to work. Regarding your other question, there is most certainly a way to do it, but I'm not sure off-hand. Perhaps @Lord Vetka could give us a answer there.
  15. If he can look at the map, what's to stop him from trying it? How about each person gets a go (or x tries) and the person who completes it in the lowest amount of time will win if it comes to that?
  16. I also like this idea, maybe we could set up and entire monthly competition or something on this - and rather than just any old castle created, how about doing castles from around the world?
  17. I've used WAV files before to change sounds, and that worked fine for me. Were you using MP3? If so, change it to WAV, you can use a converter here - I'm about 90% sure that the game only accepts WAV files because that's what's coded into it.
  18. Like this? (or similar) It's due to the encoding, and the Russian characters which aren't compatible. Try changing them to English, they should be fine. Otherwise I don't think there is any solution. See more here: http://www.fireflyworlds.com/index.php?option=com_fireboard&Itemid=271&func=view&id=29235&catid=30
  19. Sorry @EaglePrince, it will probably take up too much space and resources on the server. 1.1 GB for a single file is an abuse of the system resources. Downloading it will not only hit, but exceed the resource limits of the sever, and you can only upload files to 510 MB to start with. You are welcome to split a couple of the most important parts (such as unit skins, building skins.etc) and put some smaller files there, but it's too big by itself. I think the second option of uploading them to Google would be better, creating threads with links to them in the SHC forum would still be reliable as it's from our site and Google so people can trust them.
  20. I've had a brief search, the following link contains some stuff I would suggest, and the second sounds very similar to what you are experiencing. If you're using Ad Block of course. https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/74662?hl=en https://adblockplus.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26282
  21. No, not to my knowledge. MalwareBytes would have alerted you probably, and since you have it disabled, it would be like walking into a brick wall. Things can get downloaded, but they can't remote in unless they have administrative access to your PC - and that means downloading the malware, or whatever it is, to get in. And for a website like youtube to get hacked, it's extremely unlikely.
  22. If someone was remoting in to your PC, they would attempt a lot more damage than just changing Youtube videos. It's probably an issue with redirects on YouTube. First off, do you even have remote access enabled on your PC. And secondly, if so, why?
  23. I think you should contact steam. Tell them you've cleared your DNS cache, tell them that the game is fine when you're playing in single player, but when you go to multiplayer it's stating the game is patch 1.4. It may also be a good idea to give them a link to this thread so they can see what else you've tried, but since the game is ran through the steam client and that appears to be what's causing the issue, it's probably the best place to go. It's also possible that there is some kind of compatibility issue that steam/firefly/game ranger don't yet know about with steam & game ranger. After all - it's only been using Game Ranger for a few months, they may not even be aware a steam version of the game exists. You can submit a steam support request via the following link: https://support.steampowered.com/newticket.php
