  1. That sounds great @EaglePrince, I like the idea of templates - PM me with what you have in mind and we'll talk a bit more about that. You can use the different game view modes at the below link, these allow you to view the game in different ways, which may answer your question. http://www.stronghold-nation.com/article/64-game-views Well, EalgePrince is once again, our Winner! Congratulations EaglePrince!
  2. That should be added. I've seen people do that before and it's not fair at all. Blocking passages to the village by placing buildings is ok, but blocking the flag pole in the center isn't. Added to the list. Maybe putting a limit on would be better than banning it altogether, it's a strategy of killing opponents - not really cheating, as you've mentioned. How many would you say we should limit it to?
  3. Burning carts are just a strategy that players can use, I don't really believe that there is anything unfair about them, like Assassins for example - providing they're not in mass of course.
  4. Psst! Beheading them wastes good torturers! They could be used for armourers instead :D
  5. Yes, that's a bug. I have no idea why, clearly it's a fault with Safari somehow. The OP now reports this problem fixed. Closed.
  6. It may only have done something for @Mathew Steel if he enabled the final thing, I'm not sure whether he did do that in the end. But those errors are pretty self-explanatory, I was expecting something much more obscure than that. The actual error dumps will likely have the date in, in some kind of format, most likely as in dd-mm-yy (or another way with dashes). If they're not somewhere in the my documents folder, I'd try looking in your program files steam folder.
  7. I'm looking forward to seeing this set-in-stone now, it's looking good! :)
  8. Welcome to the forums! :) It was similar at times in SHL, when random events came on that didn't sometimes relate to the game you were playing. But... it is random. You may like to upload some files to our downloads section, they sound pretty good! The SH2 editor is definitely the easiest to use of all of them, I have to say I'm disappointed that the newest isn't in the game, though and is harder to use. SH2 had everything structured easily. SH2 is easy to mod, that's what I love about it so much - so you should be able to add those creatures in - in fact, I have a tutorial on the main site here which shows you how to add SHL units into SH2, it may help you with that.
  9. That's exactly my view on steam; it's a complete waste of time energy and resources, and is made purely to help the developers and not the end users. At least if this does happen, there is a small chance it may improve slightly...
  10. I changed the polls yesterday and haven't yet manually updated the database. It should be done soon, probably not in enough time for this month, though. was winning with 3, [user]Mathew steel] with one. If you post your reply that will do for now :)
  11. I've just approved it now - it's pretty good, the terrain and landscape are definitely good - more so for that editor. I like what you've done with the water level - with it being lower than the land in certain areas. :) Link to your file: http://www.stronghold-nation.com/downloads/file/192-flooded/
  12. Fair enough, I didn't actually know that - I do think it would look better without the outer wall though, I don't feel it looks right, but maybe after it's done it will look better. I am definitely looking forward to seeing it completed, though. :)
  13. That looks very good! I do have one thing to say though: Why is there the wall around the fields? In the real Minas Tirith, it was just the edge of Osgiliath and then open fields until the gate of Minas Tirith.
  14. If you like, I'll edit your post and add it in if you give me the link.
  15. Stronghold 3 has been officially abandoned, so no more updates will be added. But I think the "gold" version of the game is the final update, which is what I have.
  16. You can tell that it's been rushed, but everything I have played in the game seems to work fine. I haven't had any crashes, but I haven't really played it much. I've mainly played in the sandbox mode. In my eyes, SH3 is a peace game really - which is fairly good because you get a good chance to build up villages in different environments, take screenshots.etc. Because there is no skirmish mode, there is no way for you to battle opponents but if you occasionally want to just build a settlement, then it's the game to play. As I've mentioned, I've never really played it, but I'm sure I could fit a game of MP in at some point.
  17. I vote for defending - because there are far more attackers than defenders and it will be much more of a challenge. Regarding skirmish/non-skirmish: How about creating a map for each type and then you can request play testers to see which is better?
  18. Ah. Thanks for pointing that out. I changed the URL of the update page and haven't updated it in the 'my files' list as of yet. But if you navigate to your file and click the link there it will work.
  19. The gallery is definitely the part I'm pleased with the most. I'm planning to add the option in to subscribe to files for comments as well, but at least you can view what new comments have actually been posted on the downloads homepage now. Another good thing about the gallery now is that the last image appears as the thumbnail of the album.
  20. I completely forgot about this, but I've looked and I think I may have spotted it. Is it the fact that at one part of the river, water flows against the cliff on the left?
  21. Xfire I've never heard of, and for the moment I'd like to keep one slot spare in case something amazing comes up. But I've changed the "MSN Messenger" to "Steam". It only makes sense considering the latest FF games are on it.
  22. Welcome to the forums! :) Thank you - that has now solved the problem, it belongs to the estate now. However, as a note for others: you don't have to re-place the buildings. Instead, select them in the "objects" menu, select the "object options" menu (on the right side) and you can change aspects of them from there.
  23. I actually read about this at the Crusader 2 forum before I came here. :) I've fixed it.
  24. As some of you will already know, there have been some updates going on, as I've let slip a couple of times about this, but not really mentioned anything specific. This is the promised thread for that ;) Downloads Section: This should hopefully be a lot faster (with the exception of one page I'm working on) and you now have the choice to subscribe to entire categories. To do this, go to the category you would like to subscribe to, and click the "Subscribe to this category" link. You will then get redirected back to where you came from and be told that you've been subscribed. Admin note: since we approve the files, the email gets sent out when the files get approved, so unless you don't approve files for category X there's not much point subscribing to it. Note: This is taken from the Stronghold Crusader 2 Skirmish category. If you have not already done so, login or you will be unable to (un)subscribe. This now means, that any new files uploaded in that download section will be sent straight to your mail so you don't miss anything! You can subscribe to as many categories as you like, there is no limit. Next to come, it subscribing to files. But that's not quite done yet. Also available within the downloads section is the ability to see new comments or files since your last visit. You will see "[New Files]" for files, and for comments/reviews "[New Posts]". Once you click on these, you will be taken to a page where all new posts are listed for you. Gallery: This has been phenomenally improved, and is now part of the main site. Found at http://www.stronghold-nation.com/gallery/ the URL is not the only thing that has changed (if you have bookmarked this, please change it to avoid "page can't be displayed" errors). You will notice that we have a gallery for every game, and there are a lot of sub galleries. Also changed is how you submit images. You navigate to the gallery of your choice, and select the "submit image" option - you must be logged in for this to appear. You will then have the choice to select the category of your image, add a title as well as an optional description - and the image itself of course. Note that like the downloads sections, the images which you upload are renamed to the title you choose - therefore, only staff can rename images there, as well as remove them. If you would like to remove/rename an image or change the category of it, please PM a Global Moderator or Administrator to request this. However, unlike the downloads section, there will no be approvals for images. You are free to upload whatever content that you wish, and it will not be approved, just like your forum posts. Please report any content via the PM to a Global Moderator or Administrator. To view a gallery, you can left click the image or click the title. And the same for an image inside the gallery for itself. Once you view the image, you have several new options available, such as to download it, if it's yours, this is where you will update it, and if you click on the image you will also see it full screen. Other options also include the date it was added and the amount of views it has received over its time in out gallery. And if your image is considered to be outstandingly good, it will even replace one of the images on our homepage's slideshow! We are also considering starting a user referral system - users who refer X amount of users to the site and the user referred registers will get some kind of reward (unknown yet) So start spreading the word! :)
