When it comes to maps, that is a simple one - only Stronghold Nation will be open for map submissions at the moment. There is simply too much administration involved. I suppose when it comes to where to post - both communities have a different audience and reach different people. It depends on your point of view and what is a priority for you, what I can say though is that Stronghold Nation is likely to have a bigger reach and more activity at least at first, as well as exclusive coverage of Warlords, as it has not been undergoing the kind of neglect HG has. Don't forget, this is probably 15 years in the making. I remember noticing all these problems (and had discussions with at least one staff member on security issues) back when I first started Stronghold Nation, which was one reason I started the site originally.

Dear Lords and Ladies, Over the past few years, a decrease in contributions by Stronghold Heaven staff has led to the collapse of this fansite. Earlier this year, the forums and downloads were officially locked by one of the senior Administrators from HeavenGames management. This meant that as of this point in time, Stronghold Nation is the only major fansite & option outside of Steam, although specific community groups like the Unofficial Crusader Patch (UCP) do exist. After discussions with HeavenGames management, I can confirm that I have been chosen and appointed to run this community and open it back up to the public once more. Over coming weeks and months I will look to refactor and significantly improve the website and its offering to members and the public. I would like to see both SHN and SHH work in tandem with one another moving forwards, and there is much collaboration potential between the two communities, most notably in things such as cross-site Tournaments and multiplayer games. Stronghold Heaven will remain independently operated from Stronghold Nation, however both websites will be run by myself moving forwards. This follows the acquisition of the Stronghold Fandom Wiki, currently in progress, and the previous acquisition of the former Stronghold Knights fansite (albeit domain name only for now) by Stronghold Nation. The old SHK database does still exist but there are current difficulties in navigating its whereabouts. If you do still have any content from this website, please let me know and I/you can upload it to SHN with appropriate credits in place. If you are interested in getting involved, there are numerous ways you can contribute: If you own a Stronghold fansite or website on anything related to Stronghold, I will soon be updating this page: https://stronghold2.heavengames.com/community/links/ It would be good to have an updated link archive on those websites still operating, considering this one is probably 15 years out of date. Any problems you are aware of on either the Stronghold Heaven or Stronghold 2 Heaven websites. I will look at and conduct a thorough review of these once everything is ready. I will be looking to grow the team, so if you are interested in getting involved or contributing, please personal message me on this forum. The same offer also extends to Stronghold Nation. Lastly, please share the word. Given the nature of how the internet is evolving many traditional communities are collapsing. I think it is important to maintain and look after these, considering how important it is to build up a knowledge base over time, and ensure things continue to operate in the future. With today's decision I can commit to keeping the SHH forums open to business for the forseeable future, and Stronghold Nation operating as the largest and most well maintained fansite in history. The site itself (SHN) has a number of future plans which will be announced in due course. Kindest regards @ Lord_Chris SHN Owner & Webmaster

In a move somewhat as spectacular as Sean Connery's 1964 Goldfinger escape, "Do you expect me to talk?", the decision has been made, after discussion with @ Sir Windows to promote him to the Global Moderators group! Thank you very much for your service m'lord and looking very much forward to working with you! May I be the first to wish him all the best in his new role and heartfully thank him for his help, advice and expertise! I know you will make a great addition to the team and it is an honour to have you on board.

Walkthroughs Keep Returning Errors
Lord_Chris replied to Isaiah's topic in Site Questions and Support
Hi @ Isaiah This is not actually an error but rather by design. There are no articles for that category. Things are a little light on some of the areas, and for much of the site's history it was mostly myself adding articles. I tended to focus on those areas or games of most interest to myself (Stronghold 2, Legends etc) rather than older games where there was sufficient amounts covered elsewhere like HeavenGames. The good news is that the community now has a bigger team and we are interested in providing more content to users. If you are interested in filling in any of the gaps, we would be most grateful for it and be sure to feature the content you provide. In future I would like to see more of a community focus on the site with less emphasis on staff doing everything and more community interaction and engagement. There will also be an effort to re-post and update content from the old Stronghold Knights site, since technically I took over control of that a few years ago now, and also from the Fandom Wiki which is due to migrate here. I hope this helps, but as always please let me know if you have any further questions. Chris. -
In light of his incredible contributions to the Stronghold Legends community, the decision has been taken to promote @ Sir Windows to the Contributors Global Moderators group! These are long standing members who have provided valuable content to the Stronghold Community, demonstrated serious skills or expertise, and provided incredible knowledge or insight into various games. Congratulations @ Sir Windows ! May I be the first to thank you for all your hard work and amazing input into the community. We are most grateful for your contributions and very thankful for sharing your knowledge, skill and passion with us! For those of you who have not already seen, @ Sir Windows created an amazing modpack for Stronghold Legends which contains a number of modified AI Lords. Thank you so much for your amazing contributions! You can check them out at the downloads section, or view the discussion thread here:

This is amazing! I've featured this on the main website 🙂 This will become even better with future improvements and additions to the editor. Thank you so much for your contributions!

The best thing to do would be to upload them to the downloads section and then link them on the foru if you would like to start a discussion. There is also a subscribe feature on download categories as well, if anyone are interested.

An Analysis on the Good / Arthur Faction
Lord_Chris replied to Asophix's topic in Stronghold Legends
I read this reply laughing so much at all the engagements we have had which caused you to figure this out 😂 I could literally remember and pinpoint exact battles such as the one where I used Bats and Werewolves and you used Gawain and Galahad to heal haha -

Introducing: the Stronghold Legends Ai Editor!
Lord_Chris replied to Lord_Chris's topic in The Town Crier
Hi Alfred, I think you may have uploaded them as attachments instead. Would it possible to embed as images please? You may have to change the file extension from webp, I am not sure. -
As far as I am aware, maps are fully compatible between the versions. The only issue, if there was to be an issue, in my opinion, would be backwards compatibility (i.e. from Steam to 1.2) IF new textures etc were used. You are most welcome to upload your maps to our downloads section once completed if you would like to 🙂

How many lords are on your map? I noticed this should be attacking lord 5. A little while ago, I think I noticed on estates, that the colours or indicators are not really true colours in the same way they were in Stronghold 2, but more so a chronological order of lords or estates. You have a lord in pink on your minimap, but this is lord 6 on the invasion settings. If an invasion is triggering but nothing happens maybe the Lord is incorrect. You selected blue, probably because your intended lord is blue, but I'm not sure if Stronghold Legends works like this. Check and see if the estate colour matches with the AI colour which matches with the intended invasion lord colour. If not, try seeing if this makes a difference. If there are missing lords (e.g. this would only be the second player, but is set as lord 5, try changing him to lord 2 or whatever lord is next along with the lord/estate colours. If you have multiple lords try selecting the icon in the invasion settings which relates to this lord in chronological order of how they were added to the map. If that doesn't work, try on a new map, deleting the prior missions and focus on building up smaller invasion forces, eg with a trigger of +1 months and a condition of always. Once you get this working, you can then expand to the larger / actual force in a standalone scenario. Once this is working, you can then put it back in the main one.

Help Me Edit Assets.V (Solved)
Lord_Chris replied to Lord Yesterday's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
I think this probably refers to a Halloween patch by Firefly which was released around Halloween time. It changes various things in game such as this: https://fireflyworlds.com/2018/10/25/stronghold-halloween-update-2/ My understanding is that it's only available around this time of year. -
A reminder as well to everyone that we have a Stronghold Nation YouTube channel. It has not been active since the very early days of the site when I uploaded some videos, but myself and @ Asophix have agreed to start posting again. Each time we feature a multiplayer game or anything of interest a new video will be uploaded to Youtube. We will also be posting other relevant videos as well, and are open to community suggestions on anything you might like to see yourselves! Follow at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtiyNqdJagl7f-46fF0QaCw

Thanks for your message @ IgnasheunKnight . I realise that actually, we don’t currently have the facility to view just your own files. I’m surprised that I have missed this. But I will now implement this feature moving forwards, so you will be able to see all your own files from the “My Account” menu on the right hand side of the page. Thank you for making me aware of this. For now, you can check your files manually here: https://www.stronghold-nation.com/downloads/category/stronghold-legends/ If you would like to make edits to a specific map, you should find this download on the site and click on the “Edit” button. We do require all scenarios to have working scripts in order to be accepted onto the site. We would be happy to work with you in another help topic if you are having issues, but we would be unable to accept any files onto the live downloads section which have broken scripts. I noticed that the other day you did in fact upload the same file. Do not worry about this as we can remove the duplicate file. However you have made me realise we should have a tool to block duplicate unapproved submissions which are identical, so I will also create this when I implement the above feature. Probably this weekend, depending on my schedule. We are happy to accept any map, it does not need to be perfect or reach a certain “quality”. But we do require that they function as intended. We created a topic a while back on our regulations for approving files, you might find it helpful: https://www.stronghold-nation.com/forums/topic/974-approving-downloads-our-regulations/?tab=comments#comment-16808 The reality is we would not usually just reject a file without seeking to improve it and fix issues first. But we can only accept maps which meet our criteria and are bug/error free etc… Also, this is more of a site related issue so moving to Site Questions/Support. Happy to reply further if you have any other questions 🙂

Are you loading directly from the game folders or my documents?

Hi @ bezdomny , Once you download the editor you must also install Java Runtime Environment as well. You should be able to get this online, but I am not sure whether the latest versions of Java will now work with the application. Please let me know if this fixes the issue or not: https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Introducing: the Stronghold Legends Ai Editor!
Lord_Chris replied to Lord_Chris's topic in The Town Crier
Hi @ Mordered24 , I have sent you a PM to discuss further 🙂 -
As below, Reddit have struck a $60 million annual deal with an "un-named" large AI company to harvest its content and user submitted data. https://www.theverge.com/2024/2/17/24075670/reddit-ai-training-license-deal-user-content?utm_source=tldrnewsletter Just wanted to share also for discussion purposes, but personally because I find this disgraceful as it shows a complete lack of regard for user content or basic privacy rights in posts. I want to reassure members that no matter what company approaches us, or the amount offered, we will never provide, sell, share or knowingly allow AI scrapers to access our content or data.

Hello everyone! For some time now, @ Asophix has been working on refining and advancing the Stronghold Knights AI Castle Editor program, originally created to work with Stronghold 2. His intention is to create a program where the community can edit and create their own AI Castle Designs in Stronghold Legends. This is a truly historic moment and for the first time, you can now control aspects of Stronghold Legends which were previously never possible. The work far exceeds the original Editor built by the team at stronghold Knights approximately 15 years ago, and there are many more features planned in the future as well which will improve the program further. You can build & develop castles, place faction specific buildings, set faction-specific troops, patrol points and much more. The initial editor is approaching completion and we are looking for members who would be interested in having early access to test & design their own Castles. It is now stable to develop your own Castle, we need to test this on a larger scale before rolling out to the public for download. Your feedback is extremely valuable in helping to shape the future of this application for the whole community. Your thoughts and opinions, likes and dislikes will help to create the best experience possible for all global users who use this in future. For the first time you can now design your own Stronghold Legends Opponent Castles.. so what are you waiting for? Take this opportunity to develop that Castle for Vlad or Dietrich you have always been looking for! I'd like to commend @ Asophix for singlehandedly re-developing this application himself. On reviewing the old program we uncovered a number of serious issues which needed to be addressed and updated. Much of the program has been rewritten by him from the ground up. Without his hard work, this new editor would not exist. I know I speak on behalf of our whole community when I sincerely thank him for his time and show him great gratitude for his work. To display our thanks we have promoted him to an Administrator on our community. May I be the first to heartily congratulate him and welcome him to the team! 👏 Please leave a comment below, or PM myself or @ Asophix if you are interested in taking part in this Beta release and testing the Editor. If you are currently a non-member feel free to email me on chris [at] stronghold-nation [dot] com or Asophix on asophix [at] stronghold-nation [dot] com. Lastly, I have attached some screenshots of the program to date so you can see for yourself what can be achieved: 🙂

Moving to SHL Forum and featuring this topic. Should get more activity there.

Hi @ £ûƒƒý , Thanks for your message and welcome to the forum! I’ve split your thread off from our announcement as this is perhaps something which should be in the Stronghold Legends forum. There are a few members of old communities on here such as Stronghold Knights, I am sure some may find this thread and want to play 🙂 I would also be interested in playing Stronghold Legends with you if you are interested, my Steam is shnlordchris if you would like to add me, or we can play via GameRsnger if that is better.

Welcome to the Nation @ LordVolpe ! We've got plenty of things in the pipeline, you should stick around! 🙂

More Than 8 Players on a Kingmaker Match - Workarounds
Lord_Chris replied to Alfred The Baker's topic in Stronghold 2
This sounds like a really interesting revelation! Do you have a map anywhere so we can see an example of this in action? We could perhaps add a proper tutorial on this as well for the site to teach others how to do this.
