  1. Unless your firewall is blocking the internet connection of course.... If it's showing in the game as 1.4.1, then it's an issue with game ranger or online play because it's what happens in the game that matters, I suggest you try the following steps (in order) Try clearing your DNS cache. I doubt it will work, but it may be worth a try and will benefit you regardless. Completely reinstall the game, making sure that patches are downloaded automatically from steam. Something must be stopping the patch from downloading. Hopefully that will resolve the issue. If the patches don't download automatically from a clean install, then clearly it's due to a network error, which means we're closer to solving it.
  2. Just a few more days folks, as before -- there are no restrictions on who can vote. Make sure to get that vote in before it's too late!
  3. I did suggest you should try to verify the integrity of your steam cache in my earlier post, in case something is missing or corrupt. That may help :) What you play on the operating system is of no importance to it, providing the hardware/software specifications match of course. And if you're able to play the game fine, then it should be. Are you playing offline or with an internet connection to steam? Starting steam in offline mode will not allow it to send any updates to you, because an internet connection is required.
  4. Psst! Who needs a gaming setup when I have my laptop and sofa? :D
  5. I think you can run Crusader through game ranger with two different versions as well, wasn't that what happened to us that time before I uninstalled it? GameRanger doesn't shouldn't care what game version you have, it's only running the connection stuff more than patches.etc. Maybe that's part of the reason why so many people have problems with it... I would exit your game, and restart steam completely. Doing so *should* force steam to download any updates available. However, if it hasn't done so already, then there is likely a problem. You would probably be better off verifying the integrity of your steam cache first. To do this: I'm completely unaware as to whether or not steam can have the patch added manually, but you may want to download the patch from the link I posted above and see if it will let you install it on your system or not. At best, the problem will be fixed. At worst, you'll just need to reinstall the game (which may work as a benefit actually, if it's not patching up correctly.) The patch is written into the registry, so the update should be fine. However, as I said before, I'm unsure of the behaviour of steam games and how they affect SH2 running through it.
  6. Done. I've changed the subject for you :)
  7. And here it is on the site too ;) http://www.stronghold-nation.com/downloads/file/236-ocean-bay/ There is no way to currently feature a file, and it will take quite some time to work out too. But I've featured this topic, it will now appear on the homepage for a while. Thank you!
  8. Welcome to the site, @ajm102! Kicking you out of the game and to the main menu is usually a sign of different versions, as myself and @bradley0095 have also experienced this issue. We spent a couple of hours trying to figure it out, and eventually that was the cause. A couple of questions: Is the version they are using 1.4.1? I would guess from what you've told us there, it's 1.4. This is bad not only because it's an unstable version, but also because of the massive differences. Your friends can get the latest patch from our downloads section if that is the version they are using. When you're playing online, all players must be using the same version of the game. Try joining in a different order. The other issue of course, is that some firewall is blocking the connection, this announcement should be of use if that's the case. Keep us posted, have a wonderful Christmas :)
  9. It's due to the server load (I think), it's averaging about 40. I'm trying to sort it out but it will take some time. The site itself is very optimised, but the server is making it run slowly due to the large amount of traffic server-wide.
  10. I confirmed your request on steam, let me know when you have it ready :)
  11. I'll help test it sometime. Would this be via a multiplayer game or single player?
  12. I added a couple of screenshots to the gallery: http://www.stronghold-nation.com/gallery/image/187-ocean-bay-waterfall/ http://www.stronghold-nation.com/gallery/image/186-ocean-bay-ship/ Thanks @Micha! :)
  13. I like that waterfall a lot, I think it looks really impressive. Could I/you upload it to our gallery? :)
  14. It's wonderful to hear such a positive message! Thanks for listing me, and all the best to you too! :)
  15. There are some desert maps on a game I have installed on my PC at the moment; Empires Dawn of the Modern World. Would you like to me take a few screenshots and post them here for inspiration/ideas?
  16. At present, we can only feature topics. But I like that idea!
  17. The voting thread is finally here, a congratulations to everyone here who was nominated! This thread will be closed on New Year's Eve. Though checkboxes are shown, you only have one vote for each category. Any votes for categories themselves will be removed. Good luck to everyone!
  18. Thank you to everyone who nominated! Nominations have now closed, a list will be compiled shortly.
  19. It's getting down to the last few hours folks! Get your nominations in now!
  20. Nice! It appears you've been able to do something I've always wanted to; to be able to add ruins to one area without getting carried away ;)
  21. I think since that's where the majority of players are, it could give us a better chance for increasing how many people know who we are. However, it's still controversial as to whether they'd register an account here or not... What do any of you think? Especially for submitting maps, how likely are people to come here now with the Workshop?
  22. This is a really good map, @Micha!. Everything about it yells "great action map". Best of luck :)
  23. Only 3 more days to get your nominations in everybody! Make sure you get the chance to nominate your favourite members, as well as the members who helped you the most throughout the year.
  24. I didn't know you had space colony - how good is it compared to SH?
