  1. I'm delighted to announce and inform members that after many years worth or work we now have detailed Walkthroughs, and corresponding saved games, for every single Stronghold Legends Campaign Mission and Skirmish Trail that was ever made, including the bonus content publicly released by Firefly in 2016 for the first time. You can find all of these guides under the following page on the main site: https://www.stronghold-nation.com/games/stronghold-legends/walkthroughs Or instead you can head over to our Stronghold Legends section -> Mission Walkthroughs via the main site. Hopefully you find as much enjoyment out of reading them that we did in writing them! 🙂
  2. Totally, I have two Windows machines at the moment. Ironically, they both came originally with Windows 10 pre-installed but I removed it. One I bought in 2015 runs better on Windows 7 than Windows 8, and the other I bought two years ago and I use for work mainly, which uses Windows 8. To be honest, I'm going to stop using Windows altogether soon and just go to Linux instead. I already use it for my business anyway so it just makes sense - plus there's software you can use called Wine that will allow you to run Windows programs on Linux machines. I've already checked and all the Stronghold games are compatible. Happy days 😆 The so-called "security vulnerability" (KB3086255) that Microsoft fixed by disabling SecuROM was physical to the machine so you'd need disk drive access to exploit it anyway. I honestly don't know whether a digital download would work so that's an interesting question actually. My immediate instinct would say it probably wouldn't work, but if games are still being sold via a digital version then maybe there's some workaround that exists. In Windows 7 & 8 you can uninstall the aforementioned update to make it work again, but in Windows 10 the functionality was completely removed. I have heard stories of such workarounds existing in Windows 10, but as I've never really used it I can't comment much. As always with Microsoft though you get a lot of smoke and mirrors, particularly when it comes to security.
  3. I'm surprised you could even get it to run the installer with SecuROM in the first place because Microsoft disabled that about 7 years ago, offhand, I think. I'm sure it was September 2015. However I'm pleased you managed to solve the problem.
  4. Did you have the same issue with the retail version? I guess the next step here would be to check and see if any of the buildings you placed in your own estate could be affecting the path the carter takes to the Granary... Stronghold 2 can be weird like that sometimes, particularly with moving invasions. It might be worth trying different building placements, to see if this is having an impact. Try to keep your buildings as clear as possible from the various points the Carter travels to.
  5. Hi Blanko2, thanks for your question. I have to be honest when I say this is the first time I've ever heard of this bug as well. To confirm you've definitely referring to mission 4 (with the Wolves)? https://www.stronghold-nation.com/article/300-sim-campaign-mission-4-outlaws?_fromArticle=1 Or did you mean Mission 5 with Sir William's Castle? I'm presuming you've tried the mission a few times to make sure it wasn't just a one-off bug, but I guess another question is does this bug happen anywhere else in the game, or just this mission?
  6. This is a great question! When it comes to things like Cats, I usually attempt to manually dismantle them with troops, or take them out via powerful long-ranged troops. The only other real way is either wall-mounted rolling logs, or usually some kind of fire, which can destroy them exceptionally fast. Horse Archers are a major pain. I've been decimated by those far more times than I'd like to admit by @ Mathew Steel .... especially when in larger groups. I have a really efficient tactic of spawning Knights very fast, so Tom decided to start spawning many Horse Archers to combat them.. and, to be fair it works, quite well. I find Fire Ballistae work really well in dispensing Horse Archers. Catapults and Ballistae are much easier to destroy unless in particularly large groups, but I'm quite traditional in that I always believe in taking out the siege equipment first. I tend to send melee troops out to destroy these units or harass them with guerilla warfare to wear them down and then take them out. Hope this helps!
  7. Yeah if you're using Steam it's unlikely this particular version will work as it was made for the disc version I believe. Unfortunately as I'm not the mod creator I'm not really sure what more I can do for you, unless @ LORD_VALROY can confirm he's made a version compatible with Steam?
  8. This is a known issue unfortunately, as Microsoft doesn't know who the Publisher is. This link might help you with that: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/unblock-an-untrusted-publisher-in-windows-10/e964eea4-d357-4e56-aacc-94088642c7ac
  9. And a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too Nigel and all of our other members and guests! Let's hope 2022 brings us a much better and more prosperous year than the previous two that we've had. Onwards and upwards to better health, better times and of course to some decent games of Stronghold! 🏆 Now... how about a trip to The Open Castle Inn? 😀
  10. So I'm not entirely sure what was going on here for you but I uploaded the file and within about 10 minutes it fully uploaded for me. The only thing I did was remove the backup files from the archive because they're official game files that the player already has and shouldn't really be posted anywhere. It sounds like it's some kind of issue with your internet connection, I'd perhaps recommend checking with your ISP to make sure you're getting the correct speed. You can view your file here: https://www.stronghold-nation.com/downloads/file/656-stronghold-crusader-night-mod/
  11. One of the reasons I like Stronghold Legends so much is because of the factionalism in the game actually. I wish there were more games like that as it puts a really nice spin on the game. It would be cool to have a "Game of Thrones" Stronghold version or something speaking of factions.... although it ended soooo long ago now there's almost no point. We need a new saga to binge now! Speaking of that.... what about the idea of a "Stronghold Through Time". You could play through the different ages building up civilisations as you go. That would be pretty cool IMO. Re Age of Empires... have you looked on CD Keys? I can see one for as cheap as £32 on there. They always have games way cheaper than Steam, I actually got my copy of Warlords from there the night it came out. I intended to pay the higher price via Steam to support Firefly, but when Steam's servers were crashing and not letting anyone buy Warlords, I got it way cheaper from there instead. I still haven't had a chance to properly play it after 6+ months of the "computer saga" (which FINALLY thankfully seems to have come to an end) but I keep meaning to 😀 Sorry to hear about your grandmother but I'm pleased she's recovering now. I lost a family member to covid about a year ago and it's not nice. And condolences for the loss of your girlfriend's father too.
  12. https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=make+google+drive+file+public
  13. Yes that's fine. FYI I can't access your Google Drive link above, you need to make it public.
  14. Yes no problem, send it to chris [at] stronghold-nation [dot] com attached via Drive or Dropbox or something. It's too big to be sent via email attachment.
  15. Thanks for letting me know about this and sorry for the issues you're experiencing - I've checked the logs and I can't find any errors anywhere. It's possible this may be down to your internet connection speed..... do you have a good connection usually? It is also quite a large file, so this could be part of the reason too. If you haven't specifically received an error, it should still be uploading. I'd really appreciate it if you could give it one more try and see if that works for you - I'd just let the uploader keep running until it provides some error or response. If you get an error or something unexpected happens, please do copy it and let me know what it is though as it will massively help. If not, feel free to send it to me via email/PM (probably via Google Drive or something) and I'll look into what is causing the issue and upload it under your account for you.
  16. You should be able to attach it to the post as you type, but you could also email it to me on chris [at] stronghold-nation [dot] com
  17. I'm moving this topic to the Stronghold Crusader forum & merging it with your existing one. Also the links you've added go to a non-English website with no download button, but a lot of advertisements with links that do look like download buttons. As this is an English speaking website primarily, I'm removing the links for security reasons until there is a clear way to download them that is readable to the majority of our members.
  18. @ JustAVillager , You've been warned about your conduct on this forum a number of times now, all for varying reasons. You've also been explicitly told on more than one occasion to put more thought into your posts & not to post meaningless content. You've also been warned that if you do not start following the forum rules and putting effort into your threads then they will be closed. Let me be clear: Nobody has the absolute right of reply on this forum. All staff are volunteers, including myself. We choose to answer questions based on our time available, our knowledge and genuine desire to help people. The fact you're demanding a reply from me within 3 hours of posting the topic is not only unreasonable but also entirely unacceptable to expect that from any member. The attitude you're repeatedly demonstrating is one of severe entitlement, impatience and spammy in nature. You're not respecting the forum rules, which you've also been pointed to on many occasions, and you appear to have no respect for anyone or anything on the community other than yourself. Based on these breaches I'm banning you from posting any content on the community for 7 days. Once this time has expired, all content by you must be approved by a Moderator for a further month to ensure you're following the forum rules. We will use additional moderation tools and permanently ban your account if this becomes necessary. I am closing the thread.
  19. That's not what you told me in your PM, but since that now means this is a duplicate topic, I will be closing it. Please feel free to update your other topic here on the Move Lord event with any relevant info including what you've tried to solve your problem, exactly what isn't working and what's happening when you run the map. We cannot help without this information.
  20. I've merged your topics together. I appreciate you're passionate about your map but duplicate posting around the forum in an attempt to get more replies will not be tolerated. If you aren't going to start following the forum rules then I'm just going to start closing your threads as necessary. Regarding the issue that you're talking about, for the benefit of others viewing this thread, @ JustAVillager was having an issue in his custom map with the move ship event and invasions which were not triggering. I've attached a couple of screenshots to this post so people know exactly what I'm talking about in my reply. Essentially, the events aren't triggering because they haven't been fully configured yet. You may wish to familiarise yourself with our articles on scripting invasions and moving ships to understand the full set of options and what they do. The guides explain everything in detail, but with regard to the invasion, there are a couple of issues that I noticed. The first is that you've opted to have the invasion as a "Siege" invasion, but there's no siege point set for the invasion. You've also opted to have a target point insead of a siege point, which will never trigger properly with that type of invasion. And there's no marker flag for the intended destination set either. With the move ship event, you need to set all of the marker flag settings in the editor otherwise the event won't work. I admit this is challenging in your case because the sea is so small in that area. You may wish to re-think this approach and add more sea, or add more marker flags in instead.
  21. Moved to Stronghold 2. The Gaming Events forum is for scheduling specific gaming events with other members, not for general discussion.
  22. If you're referring to SHN, a "topic" is a public discussion topic in a forum or club on our community. A "status" appears on your profile feed and users who follow you can see them. Statuses while still public are more personal whereas topics are generally considered for the whole community.
  23. Another great addition to the site and very much looking forward to what is posted!
  24. Sorry if I was unclear I meant your current map but with all other events removed, i.e. so the move lord event is the only event on the map. That will tell you whether it's a problem with the map (i.e pathing) or whether it's an issue with the actual event. Another thing you could try that would help identify whether it's a pathing issue is to setup a basic invasion to move from one invasion point to the other. In Stronghold 2 the invasion will arrive on the map and literally not move anywhere if it can't reach the "Move" invasion point. If it's blocked by Gatehouses, walls or other buildings then in 1.3.1 and 1.4 the game can also sometimes crash when the invasion arrives on the map, so that's another telltale sign if it that happens. This will also give you reassurance whether or not the move Lord event is actually triggering, too. You can find a detailed guide on setting up invasions via: https://www.stronghold-nation.com/article/340-scripting-invasions-using-invasion-markers For the purposes you need, a "Movement only" invasion would suffice.
  25. Have you tried as a blank map with no other events like I suggested?
