  1. Like this? (or similar) It's due to the encoding, and the Russian characters which aren't compatible. Try changing them to English, they should be fine. Otherwise I don't think there is any solution. See more here: http://www.fireflyworlds.com/index.php?option=com_fireboard&Itemid=271&func=view&id=29235&catid=30
  2. Sorry @EaglePrince, it will probably take up too much space and resources on the server. 1.1 GB for a single file is an abuse of the system resources. Downloading it will not only hit, but exceed the resource limits of the sever, and you can only upload files to 510 MB to start with. You are welcome to split a couple of the most important parts (such as unit skins, building skins.etc) and put some smaller files there, but it's too big by itself. I think the second option of uploading them to Google would be better, creating threads with links to them in the SHC forum would still be reliable as it's from our site and Google so people can trust them.
  3. I've had a brief search, the following link contains some stuff I would suggest, and the second sounds very similar to what you are experiencing. If you're using Ad Block of course. https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/74662?hl=en https://adblockplus.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26282
  4. No, not to my knowledge. MalwareBytes would have alerted you probably, and since you have it disabled, it would be like walking into a brick wall. Things can get downloaded, but they can't remote in unless they have administrative access to your PC - and that means downloading the malware, or whatever it is, to get in. And for a website like youtube to get hacked, it's extremely unlikely.
  5. If someone was remoting in to your PC, they would attempt a lot more damage than just changing Youtube videos. It's probably an issue with redirects on YouTube. First off, do you even have remote access enabled on your PC. And secondly, if so, why?
  6. I think you should contact steam. Tell them you've cleared your DNS cache, tell them that the game is fine when you're playing in single player, but when you go to multiplayer it's stating the game is patch 1.4. It may also be a good idea to give them a link to this thread so they can see what else you've tried, but since the game is ran through the steam client and that appears to be what's causing the issue, it's probably the best place to go. It's also possible that there is some kind of compatibility issue that steam/firefly/game ranger don't yet know about with steam & game ranger. After all - it's only been using Game Ranger for a few months, they may not even be aware a steam version of the game exists. You can submit a steam support request via the following link: https://support.steampowered.com/newticket.php
  7. Well, the new year is here, first of all, I'd like to wish everyone a happy new year! May 2015 bring the best times for everyone. The voting thread. Here are the Award Results: Nicest Member of the Year 2014 This one was a joint win - and [user]eagleprince]. Most Helpful (Game Help) @Lord_Chris Most Helpful (Downloads) @Lord Vetka New Member of the Year Another joint win, nearly a triple win - and [user]Mathew steel] (I apologise, it appears we have no award for this yet. I'll get one made super fast for you both and issue it ASAP!) Staff Member of the Year @Lord_Chris I must say I'm honoured. Thank you to everyone who voted for me! Congratulations to everyone else, your awards have been given! @Micha! has recently been contributing more, and helping us a lot more out in the Crusader 2 sections, so it is my privilege to announce that he has now been promoted to an expert! Charles, as you have probably seen by above, has also been promoted to a global moderator, these promotions are long over-due, a very well done to both of you, keep up the great work!
  8. A peace scenario will be a change for me, and it will give me a chance to build up my economy - I want to see what the maximum is that the game allows! :D
  9. Just a few more hours until voting closes! Make sure to get YOUR vote in!
  10. ok then. Try to either allow the program through your firewall using the link I provided in my above post, or (much better) turn off your firewall whilst you test. We all know that turning your firewall off is not recommended, as always, preform a scan before doing so - however, providing it is not off for long there will not be a reason to worry. Also make sure you have no spyware or viruses on your computer (check with updated anti-spyware and antivirus programs).
  11. I third this too, I had completely forgotten. :) An SH2 map would be great, and a peace map would be the first too.
  12. Please don't double post, especially four times within three hours of the previous post. I've merged the four posts into two, the timeframe between those two posts is really what should be used before double posting in future. :) Did you try replacing all the files with the custom ones, to see if any will work at all?
  13. Unless your firewall is blocking the internet connection of course.... If it's showing in the game as 1.4.1, then it's an issue with game ranger or online play because it's what happens in the game that matters, I suggest you try the following steps (in order) Try clearing your DNS cache. I doubt it will work, but it may be worth a try and will benefit you regardless. Completely reinstall the game, making sure that patches are downloaded automatically from steam. Something must be stopping the patch from downloading. Hopefully that will resolve the issue. If the patches don't download automatically from a clean install, then clearly it's due to a network error, which means we're closer to solving it.
  14. Just a few more days folks, as before -- there are no restrictions on who can vote. Make sure to get that vote in before it's too late!
  15. I did suggest you should try to verify the integrity of your steam cache in my earlier post, in case something is missing or corrupt. That may help :) What you play on the operating system is of no importance to it, providing the hardware/software specifications match of course. And if you're able to play the game fine, then it should be. Are you playing offline or with an internet connection to steam? Starting steam in offline mode will not allow it to send any updates to you, because an internet connection is required.
  16. Psst! Who needs a gaming setup when I have my laptop and sofa? :D
  17. I think you can run Crusader through game ranger with two different versions as well, wasn't that what happened to us that time before I uninstalled it? GameRanger doesn't shouldn't care what game version you have, it's only running the connection stuff more than patches.etc. Maybe that's part of the reason why so many people have problems with it... I would exit your game, and restart steam completely. Doing so *should* force steam to download any updates available. However, if it hasn't done so already, then there is likely a problem. You would probably be better off verifying the integrity of your steam cache first. To do this: I'm completely unaware as to whether or not steam can have the patch added manually, but you may want to download the patch from the link I posted above and see if it will let you install it on your system or not. At best, the problem will be fixed. At worst, you'll just need to reinstall the game (which may work as a benefit actually, if it's not patching up correctly.) The patch is written into the registry, so the update should be fine. However, as I said before, I'm unsure of the behaviour of steam games and how they affect SH2 running through it.
  18. Done. I've changed the subject for you :)
  19. And here it is on the site too ;) http://www.stronghold-nation.com/downloads/file/236-ocean-bay/ There is no way to currently feature a file, and it will take quite some time to work out too. But I've featured this topic, it will now appear on the homepage for a while. Thank you!
  20. Welcome to the site, @ajm102! Kicking you out of the game and to the main menu is usually a sign of different versions, as myself and @bradley0095 have also experienced this issue. We spent a couple of hours trying to figure it out, and eventually that was the cause. A couple of questions: Is the version they are using 1.4.1? I would guess from what you've told us there, it's 1.4. This is bad not only because it's an unstable version, but also because of the massive differences. Your friends can get the latest patch from our downloads section if that is the version they are using. When you're playing online, all players must be using the same version of the game. Try joining in a different order. The other issue of course, is that some firewall is blocking the connection, this announcement should be of use if that's the case. Keep us posted, have a wonderful Christmas :)
  21. It's due to the server load (I think), it's averaging about 40. I'm trying to sort it out but it will take some time. The site itself is very optimised, but the server is making it run slowly due to the large amount of traffic server-wide.
  22. I confirmed your request on steam, let me know when you have it ready :)
  23. I'll help test it sometime. Would this be via a multiplayer game or single player?
