Stronghold Crusader Extreme Scenarios
Lord_Chris replied to Isaiah's topic in Stronghold Crusader & Crusader Extreme
Welcome to StrongholdNation @Isaiah! Thank you for providing this tutorial, you're very gifted at writing and was very clear to understand. Perhaps it would gain even more attention if I posted it on the main site under your name, in addition to being here? If you would allow me to of course, it's your tutorial :) I've also promoted you to a standard member now, so no more new-member restrictions apply. Welcome! -
Unable to attach images in the Gaming Events forum
Lord_Chris replied to Nigel's topic in Site Questions and Support
Attachments aren't allowed in the gaming events forum because there's not really any need for users to upload them there, it's mainly for scheduling events for the games. I've moved your thread to site questions/support & renamed it as this thread is not really about SHC2, more of an issue with attachments & the site. -

Adventure #01 - A Duke in Distress
Lord_Chris replied to Charles of Tours's topic in Adventures in the Duchy of Riverbourne
While the knights peacefully sleep, a mounted figure appears on the horizon, slowly getting closer and closer with a small cluster of other mounted figures nearby. Before long, they are fairly near and in close view of the knights, who seem to feel threated by their presence. Fearing for a bloodbath after their tense movements, Duke Christopher XII speaks. "Good e'en, how farest thou? My party have ventured out from Riverbourne Castle, in order to reach some aiding knights - but have been lost in the process in the nearby woods. May we stay here for the night?" -
New members are restricted from posting attachments as a way to stop malicious intentions on the forum & any spam (several other restrictions also apply). I've promoted you now, you can make use of that functionality - welcome! :)

We have added a new forum behind the "Competitions" forum, for the joint project between and [user]lord vetka]. This forum is dedicated to the Crusader 2 Multiplayer: Siege-That! tournament(s) which will contain several maps and have different levels of difficulty. For more information exactly what the contest contains, you can refer to the discussion thread below: http://forums.stronghold-nation.com/topic/443-contest-idea-multiplayer-siege-that/ To help folks directly get to the new Crusader 2 Multiplayer: Siege-That! forum, here is a direct link to it: http://forums.stronghold-nation.com/forum/65-crusader-2-multiplayer-siegethat/. You can also access this via Competitions -> Crusader 2 Multiplayer: Siege-That! This forum will have all the official topics posted in, and all in one place so that it's easier to find as well as serves as an official record.

"The Contract" An economic custom map by Mathew Steel
Lord_Chris replied to Mathew Steel's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
Thanks Nigel :) There is a bit of a back-log of files still, though. There are a total of 8 files still in the queue, I'm working on three SH1 Invasion maps but after the unexpected server move yesterday it had to be abandoned. They should be approved today at some point. EDIT: Make that 9 xD -
Agreed - we will give some time for the contest to start, however, we won't wait forever. I am currently discussing ideas about how to implement better ways to judge the contest and for users to submit entries so that people cannot view entries by other members before the contest is closed .etc. The contest is still on, however there are a couple of things to be done before we start, for example, an in-depth article on scripting which users could go to for a guide on how to create maps. We do have an editor overview, but that is just an overview and not in any detail about things that do/don't work. We're both currently hard at work on other games, making maps and articles, and as far as I know it's still on-hold. @Lord Vetka can you confirm this?

This gallery has been up for some time now, but here is a gallery album full of screenshots that show more about the map you would be using. http://www.stronghold-nation.com/gallery/album/33-arden-contest/

Yes you have made a topic about this before. Merging.

I'd be more than happy to referee if you're looking for someone. Sometimes being able to just sit back and watch is an easy way to learn more tricks, and means you don't have to worry about getting killed yourself. -
Spotlight on Medieval Weapons
Lord_Chris replied to Crusader1307's topic in Site Questions and Support
Currently, there is only the option to add articles for games. However, you can send me some through the PM sometime and, I'll see if I think it's worth somehow figuring out how to create a category for them. -

Welcome to the site @Aleks S. I! You've certainly been playing Stronghold a very long time, even longer than myself. And such a variety too! Which one do you generally play the most?

Lord_Chris replied to Mathew Steel's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
Sorry Mathew but none of your maps are in the download queue yet. The only maps there are by @Crusader1307. -
The forum has been up for a while now, but here is a link to help folks find it easier. Please feel free to create any moderator applications in this forum from now on. Also make sure to read this announcement before applying.

Moving to Stronghold 2 as the advanced discussion forums are mainly for discussion topics rather than help topics. If you do accidently post in the wrong section, you can report your post asking for it to be moved and a moderator will assist you :) No question is too stupid to ask, all questions have equal worth. You would have to add the unit skins to the archive as well as the map for the map to transfer with the skins, and this depends on exactly what you edit in the game. The skins are .dds files, and the models (3D Structure) for the units are .gr2. If you're only changing certain skins though, make sure you don't copy and paste all of them in, only the ones you've changed. By default, the skins are located: C:\Program Files (x86)\Firefly Studios\Stronghold 2\meshes\units\models If you have installed it to a custom location, you can search for it or will have to navigate there yourself. Also note that whether the folder Program Files (x86) is called that, or just Program Files will depend on whether you have a 32-bit or 64-bit operating system.

Thanks. I'll check it out and update the article with the new info :)
-
Not really. It depends on abuse accounts being disabled on the server, and the amount of other websites hosted there. I have already contacted the host; if it doesn't improve soon we're changing servers.
-
No, the maintenance yesterday was for adding the new groups in - it's purely by coincidence at the moment, the server load is low.

Map in progress: "A Lord in a Canyon"
Lord_Chris replied to Mathew Steel's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
Are the mountains pathed out? (Just like what you do with water to stop people walking on it)
