  1. Yippee! Thank you for submitting your file, here is the link: http://www.stronghold-nation.com/downloads/file/180-xiimarcleon/ Would you like me to remove the attachment from this thread for you?
  2. Ah right. The functionality is there, but WinRAR has automatically defaulted the file type to open with it. I've changed some code. Check and see if it will upload now.
  3. What version of Windows do you have? No right click -> send to ->compressed (zipped folder) I'd be both surprised and disappointed if that's not there.
  4. Can you try without WinRAR and Windows' built in zipping function?
  5. http://www.fantasynamegenerators.com It would be better uploading it to the downloads section, it would get a lot more attention. But it is up to you :) That is also one good map. You should be proud of that.
  6. Yes, they are under a village, "Estate 9". But even though I placed the buildings for the village before the territory was set to the village, when I delete the buildings the colour underneath them is white - so it appears the transition between the castle to village should have been successful. Regarding "Estate Markers": Which menu are they in and what exactly do you mean by them? If they're in the "markers" menu, I've placed the maximum amount and nothing has changed. I'm pretty sure they're event markers.
  7. Since the crashing issue does not occur on my machine, I do not know where the dump will be stored. My best guess will be in your my documents/Stronghold Crusader 2/XXX folder.
  8. Stronghold Crusader Stronghold Legends Stronghold 2 Stronghold 3 Stronghold Crusader 2 CivCity Rome The Settlers Heritage of Kings Empires Dawn of The Modern World Imperial Glory Prisoner of War The Great Escape (hardly play now) The Settlers IV (hardly play now)
  9. I have the free version of it and it works fine.
  10. The ultimate goal is to place a building that belongs to an estate in the editor. I've created the estate successfully - the game recognises the village as being a village. But buildings placed there belong to the player, and not the estate. If it's an obvious error, please just shout "you're stupid!" and I will thank you heartily. But I've been on for three straight hours now, and nothing has changed. I've checked the team alignments. There are no scripted events. In the game the player can't place buildings in the village (or the opponents estate) so it's definitely recognising it as a village. When no buildings are placed, the village does nothing. Is this even possible to pre-place buildings for estates?
  11. Having multiple anti viruses on your PC does not benefit you in the way you think they would - they tend to conflict with each other. This explains a bit more, note that this is only one paragraph from three. Source: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/186533/is-it-bad-to-run-multiple-antivirus-programs/?p=1046121 Viruses are very explicit in what they do; the whole purpose of a virus is to destroy things on your computer and cause damage. Therefore, they're very easy to notice. Malware is what you should be concerned about. Malware is the main thing that you get on your PC. When people say "I've got a virus on my PC", nine times out of ten, it's malware. Malware is much more sly than Viruses, it tends to do things so that the user won't notice them. It depends. And it's very hard to tell. A site does not often jump out saying "Hey, I'm a malicious site" to you. But it isn't just malware - it's whether the site itself is vulnerable to SQL Injection. It's hard to explain without getting complicated, but essentially, data is stored in a database. To get data from that database, you need to use SQL queries. Some sites that don't validate what the user posts to them correctly are susceptible to this because the queries can be modified by an attacker (don't ask how, it gets pretty complex). If this is the case, then all the information in the database (such as names, addresses, emails, phone numbers.etc) will be available to the attacker. Lord Vetka's reply is spot on here, using PayPal is great because it doesn't mean that you have to give your details to every company you buy from, the transaction is sent through PayPal. MSE is by far not the worst, but it's certainly not the best. It's fairly average I'd say actually. I really think MalwareBytesPro is probably the best kind of thing for that - it even picked up stuff in my registry that security essentials (or windows defender as it's known in Windows 8) missed. I pay nothing. Everything I use is free (or at least a free version, such as MalwareBytesPro) I find that free stuff is often just as good or better than commercial software.
  12. Holiday = Vacation - or at least in UK talk ;)
  13. Indeed! Enjoy your holiday. Are you staying somewhere local or going abroad?
  14. If it's not a skirmish map, have you allowed the use of walls?
  15. Actually my game arrived yesterday :D I haven't really looked into the files yet but that was one of the first ones I came across earlier. Do bear in mind it's likely to not be readable information (i.e. as in "Failed loading game".) It will likely be something like:
  16. I don't know about fixing the crashes (as I don't know what is responsible for it) but you can set SHC2 to auto save, just like SH3. Head to the: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Stronghold Crusader 2\assets folder and open the file "config.xml" in a text editor (i.e. Notepad). Find: and replace the numbers next to the equal sign with what you need. Interval is how often (in seconds) the game will auto save and max_files is how many saves the game will allow. The following example will save the game automatically every five minutes, and allow a total of 6 saves at any one time before it over writes: You can also set some debugging information for when the game does crash in this file as well, which will give you a bit more info on what isn't working or going wrong. To do this, find: and replace with: This may also help. Find: replace with: The dump file created when the game crashes is located in the following directory: C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppCrash_Crusader2.exe Thanks to @Nigel for finding the directory!
  17. There are no drivers for it, it's not just software compatibility it's also hardware compatibility. I attempted to use a Windows 7 driver but that didn't work so there's practically nothing that can be done. :(
  18. Vista is installed but there are no drivers for it and it can't connect wirelessly to anything at all (as it needs a wireless driver and well, it's a never-ending loop). So it's pretty much a spare backup hard drive that I'll just have to store files on.
  19. Indeed. ;) A battle well won Mathew.
  20. The OP was uploading a RAR file, I've given him instructions on how to create a zip archive and am waiting for him to reply back to me via email. There are no other technical issue with uploading/editing files as they've all been fixed a few days back.
  21. Actually Mathew, it's still linking to your image rather than the thread. :/
  22. 5 more days to get your signature completed everyone! Remember that the image must link to this thread and you must post your entry here also.
