The map can be downloaded now from our downloads central. :) Follow this link to download the map. -
I wouldn't be bad if the five of us were all able to play, but that's OK. :) I hope we could try next weekend as well! Speaking about a map - I wasn't thinking about that one yet. I also don't know for sure if we are playing Crusader or Extreme. We could play one of Vetka's map, I am open to any suggestions. If you have no idea, we could try with The River map, and put the three of us in south-east, and give the AI's 8000 gold. See you on battlefield! :)

So I am making this tread, as I believe we should have one like this for Stronghold Europe as well. This is the new map that came to life thanks to joint work of Duc Vautour's and myself. There will be another map as well, but this the first one that is going to be available at SHN downloads central. I am giving you the minimap, and I am also giving you the panorama of the map. I hope you're gonna like it. Duc Vautour sent me his map called Line in the Sand, which hasn't been submitted to SHN yet, but it will be soon enough. Even though his map hasn't but published yet, this one I made by editing Line in the Sand. I believe this map could be played in singleplayer and multiplayer as well. All AI lords have enough space and enough resources, while none has too much resources, and almost each castle lord that doesn't have any ally out there is going to have had time defending his industry outside of his castle. Any suggestions about the map - what could have been done better, or anything like that - that is all welcome! I am sorry for making double treads for this, but there is no notification displayed at main forums page about when I make a new tread or post in a sub-forum, such as in Stronghold Europe. I am making this one so it could be visible by others.

Hey, Mathew! If I got it right, you have no internet access on your computer. In that case, if it is not about your internet provider, it could be that reinstalling network adapter driver could help, unless it's a hardware problem. Still, what confuses me is that you do have access to MSN homepage which does need internet connection, so I might be wrong about this one. :/ To check if it is because of your internet provider, you can try connecting to internet using another device, such as your phone - if you have wireless enabled in your router settings. Now when I wrote it, I see you said you are able to play multiplayer games, and you are able to connect to Skype, so that should indicate I'm wrong... Anyway, I do have no actual idea what might be causing the problem.

I agree! Even if they don't come back to Stronghold 3, they could use some of it to make one great game!
-
It seems like we have that same dream... :)
-
That is great to hear! In that case I do hope that they will be able to patch Stronghold 3 some more to make things better. I believe the only difference between those two is the fact that in Crusader 2 they brought back the grid, and buildings ca be rotated in only four directions like in Stronghold 2.
-
Too bad to hear that. I believe many others would be playing it as well. Stronghold 3 is indeed a special Stronghold game - just when you look at it, you can see how different it is compared to other Stronghold games. I don't know what are Firefly's plans after Stronghold Crusader 2, but it would be great indeed if they came back to Stronghold 3, just like that went back to Stronghold and Stronghold Crusader to make the HD patches. Unfortunately I do realize it is not so likely that they would come back to Stronghold 3 now; but on the other hand, Stronghold 3 and Stronghold Crusader 2 have similar engines (if I am right?), so it should be easier to them to fix some things in Stronghold 3 after their experiences with Stronghold Crusader 2.

Do you know if we can save the game in multiplayer, and load it if the game crashes? I do know the autosave has been disabled by Firefly, but the host could save the game manually now and then though...

This is a fine review. Sorry I haven't commented anything until now, but I have read the review, and I did consider it before buying the game myself. I only meant to tell few more things. Troops: I also like how they made some troops to have some new abilities. For example, spearmen are in Stronghold 3 called men at arms, and they are able to through their spear. In earlier Stronghold games they are pretty much useless, and that is not the case here. Tutorial: I agree that tutorial tell very little, but one can find out a lot more by playing economic campaign. I believe that Firefly meant to make it this way - the economic campaign is in some way an advanced tutorial as well - with difference that it doesn't tell you what exactly to do. It guides you, while you have to figure some little details by yourself. Would I recommend it: If you are a fan of the Stronghold series, yes. If not, I would tell you try Stronghold Crusader and Stronghold 2 first. If you one liked those two, than there are good chances that you will like Stronghold 3 as well, but you may miss some features. PS: I hope we could try a multiplayer game some day, Mathew. :) If you decide to make a gaming event for Stronghold 3 I would definitely join.

Hey, guys. I can see that very little people write about Stronghold 3, although I do believe it does deserve some more attention. Also, many of them have the opinion that Stronghold 3 is simply a bad game, and since I believe it's not true, I decided to write this review. I have also read the review of Mathew Steel. I agree with his review, and I shall comment there about some things he said, to tell what else I think about the matter.

You can make the in-game screenshot by pressing PRINT SCREEN (while in the game), and than you minimize the game and open Paint, and press CTRL+P to paste the image. Then you save the image. Those who have Steam version could press F12 to make a screenshot. Nevertheless, we do know what Hades terrain, but we wanted to see your map, so we could see something about your problem. -

You can do both, although the map provides more information to us. :) -

No problem. Another guy also joined the room, so we were able to play 2 vs 2 game, and it was quite fun. I hope you will make it to come next time though. :) -

I did assume that, but I wasn't quite sure what you were thinking under "Hades terrain", but than I got it. You can make it by placing ocean, and than over that ocean you need to put grass. Also, I believe that Hades terrain and beach are same level in fact - at least it has always seemed to me like that. Also, I should tell that I found what Hades terrain is by looking at War of the deserts map. Surajsubba also gave there his answer of how to create the terrain. -

Hmm, that sounds interesting! Fighting against AI opponent using siege towers. I hope I will play that scenario some time soon. :)
