  1. I was expecting that answer, 1.1 GB is really a lot in this context. I will upload those to Google Drive as soon as I test Russian Story by myself, and of course, I guess I should ask those guys for permission as well. Thanks, Chris! ADDITION: What I downloaded now are two exe files, and I am thinking what to do with them - whether to run them or not... I shall see about that, and the other thing about exe files is thet Google Drive won't accept them I think. We shall see...
  2. You downloaded your files from Sronghold Heaven? I am downloading mine from some website www.playground.ru. There are two files uploaded by user ICE-DOG. I believe that should be one of the creators. Speaking about their official website, they are offering one link to download each Russian Story 2.0 (900 MB), and Russian Story 2.1 patch (200 MB), but I didn't make it to download it from there. First I didn't see any link to download the mod, and after I tried to register, the website wasn't accepting my anti-bot answers (text one needs to type from an image of animation). I also meant to ask @Lord_Chris about this. Would that be possible for Stronghold Nation to host these files? Russian Story would take 1.1 GB, while Stronghold Europe takes slightly more then 500 MB. I do realize this is quite a lot of space by the way, and downloading this could burden the server. Perhaps the best solution would be to upload those two to Google Drive like I meant to do, and to share those links in Downloads Central, or in one or two treads inside Stronghold Crusader & Extreme forums? By the way, the patch has been downloaded, I'll try to install Russian Story now. Afterwards I will also check what can be found at SHH about it as well!
  3. Well, that does make more sense to me as well. Thanks for your reply, Micha! :)
  4. You're welcome! :) By the way, I didn't make it to download 2.1 patch today, the server was pretty slow this evening; I hope I will have more luck tomorrow. I will let you know through this tread when I upload those two to Google Drive, so you could compare those two. I hope you will be able to find something from there that might have been missing to you, although the best would be for both of us to have it all from the beginning, of course. :)
  5. Hey, guys, I've started Steam this evening, and I noticed that I have 3 games - not 2 as I should be having. Then I took a look into the library, and after that I saw another game there - Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes... Can someone tell me what is this about? Is this some New Year present from Steam, or a demo, or something like that? Also, if it is a gift, then I guess I have two days left to install it if I want (that's what it says: "Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes - 2 days left"), and then it's all mine? Also, may I be able to trade that game for another one, as this one appears to be similar to Heroes (Mights and Magic, etc...) and I haven't been a fan of that kind of game...
  6. I am downloading this mod today, it's taking some time. I hope I will get those buildings you are mentioning as well. Russian Story mod does seem interesting to me, it's showing Eastern Europe quite well - or to me more precise: as I would imagine it. The only downside is the snow - they introduced snow terrain, but each building, rock, or a tree doesn't have it's winter version. Because of that I believe that it would be better if they just didn't make that snow terrain. Because of that I believe it would be better that they didn't make that snow terrain at all, although bringing in the snow is a great idea. I guess that might be another mod: "winter mod", or "Swedish mod", something like that... Well, I am interesting in those stuff, although I wouldn't be able to offer any help right now, as I have a lot of obligations. :( Too bad to hear about that thing with a virus. If I get something more than you've got, I would upload it to Google Drive, and I would share the links here. I've done the same thing with Stronghold Europe today as well.
  7. That's great, I'm glad you solved the problem. :) I was following this tread, and I was curious what might be the problem. Flash Player wouldn't come to my mind that easily, now we know it. :)
  8. It is a Stronghold Crusader mod. They introduces snow and stuff like that into it, and they also made buildings to look at they used to look in Russia during middle ages. (and, yes, the tread needs to be moved to Stronghold Crusader forum :D ) ADDITION: I believe this ( http://russianstory.ucoz.ru/ ) is their official website. From there one can download version 2.0, and the patch 2.1. I'll have a look at it later today, it is possible that this mod is in Russian, but I believe that we should be able to easily get the English text, and speech as well - if we want, and if it is not in English already.
  9. Welcome, Crusader1307, to Stronghold Nation. Now when you said this, another thing came to my mind - we don't have Stronghold Europe here either... We only have it uploaded to free file hosting websites; which is not a problem as long I have it, but still... We could do something about that. But we do have a separate website for Stronghold Europe in English. On the other hand, we don't have anything about Russian Story mod here, but I could put some effort to get it. Of course, with permission of the creators. By the way, can I ask, why do you want to avoid Russian websites? Is that because you expect that the mod would be in Russian if you get it from there, or something else? Perhaps you find it hard to download it from there because of the language? I am from Serbia, it's also a Slavic language and we use Cyrillic - similar to script used by Russians, if that is the case, maybe I could help you. :)
  10. Yes, I also got same message when I tried to log in using Internet Explorer, and then I came back to Firefox in which I am logged in there "by default". I hope they are going to fix it.
  11. You may have forgotten them, but I did find them at Stronghold Heaven. I'm not sure if I played it, or I just kept it on my PC to play it later, but I remember that name. Well, now these days I have some more time, so I hope I will be able to do all of these - finish Stronghold 1 campaign, play your Stronghold 1 and Stronghold 2 maps, and to finish Stronghold 3 campaign as well. :) On one hand I feel sad when I don't have enough time to finish all those when I want to, but on the other one, if I did have that time, there would be less missions and scenarios I could play now. :)
  12. Congratulations! Especially to Micha, congratulations! :)
  13. Hey, guys! I tried to make a new tread at Stronghold Heaven, and was given this message: "We're sorry but we are currently unable to post your message to the forums.". The same happens if one tried to reply a tread. Does someone know what is this about?
  14. I look forward to it. It's been a while since I played Stronghold 2, so it will be a great experience. These days I have played Stronghold 1 - I installed Steam version of Stronghold 1 which I got with Stronghold 3 when I bought it, and I am fighting to set free the kingdom. :) I have defeated Rat, and now Snake is my next target - I am in front of his final castle, while Pig and Wolf are sending their troops to help him. I'd say resistance is futile!
  15. Indeed! Oh, and you gave me an idea here. I could try adding some more castles to the game in a way that shouldn't do any harm to other stuff - I may try to make a new castle and name it Richard9 like you said, and hopefully, this way we can get more castles and make it all even more interesting. But, we shall see about that, that remains to be tested. Well, it is certain that it will act differently, and that it wouldn't act as I, or anyone else, would want. :) I will test this as well.
  16. I did get my answers. Right now I am keeping those edited AIV files, now their economy is more efficient, but I still feel sorry for editing them, as it is different than it should be. I shall see what to do - whether to keep them or not. I will also submit those files to our downloads section later. Also, speaking about the one Lionhearts castle that is missing one hovel - for now I decided not to edit anything. The less I mess up with those - better. I didn't try that, but I believe that everything would work pretty well in singleplayer - only Crusader Trail would be messed up I think. Speaking about multiplayer, if one replaces aiv1 and aiv2, but the other players doesn't, than the game would choose one castle among aiv3 to aiv8. That is what I am almost sure that would happen after those testings I made. I could try testing that as well - just out of curiosity. Also, if one would remove all aiv's from 2 to 8, and leave only aiv1, and put there seven copies of it instead of the seven others, than AI lord would build the castle from aiv1.
  17. I forgot about it as well. :) Yes, Stronghold 2 map would be refreshing. :)
  18. I used those buttons to move back as much steps back as I needed, and after he would build the latest building to enclose the castle - I remove part of the wall, and I put the gate then where I want. You are right but the game is also somewhat smarter. If I replace only two castles, than if you have all eight original ones, the game will choose one of the six ones that are the same to both of us.
  19. Thanks, Chris, I'll keep that in mind. :) ADDITION: I have tried it in multiplayer having these two edited AIV files on both PC's. It works great - as far as I have seen!
  20. I apologize for the triple post, but as I was bringing relatively new in each one, and as there was some time between each of them, I felt that was the right thing to do. I played with the AIV editor a little, and after some time I realized that it IS possible to do what I wanted to do in the first place. I added two gatehouses to both of the two large Lionhearts castles, and those gatehouses not being built in the end - I was able to make him build them when I want it to. Like I said, their economy is no larger, nor it is smaller, but peasants will not have to wall all around the castle to bring their good, and they will be less likely to get killed on the way. I am sharing the screenshots of those two edited castles, I hope you like it, and I hope I didn't change them too much. Like I said, I like having don't want to go too far from the original idea of Firefly, but I feel like he really misses those gates. Also, I am still going to check how it acts in multiplayer - just to make sure, and I will let you know! EDIT: Just to let you know, guys... I tried it, and I came to a disappointing result. It seems that if I have five not modified AIV's, and three modified, the game always chooses ones that are not modified. I shall see, but that seems to be the case now. I may find some more stuff later - such as the thing Vetka suggested: to remove all other AIV's, and if that does work, I could modify all other AIV's as well - I could add one more statue to each Richard which wouldn't effect anything but this thing I am trying to accomplish. As soon as I get something, I would upload what I have to our downloads section, but not until I see I got what I wanted: small enhancements to two of his castles, which wouldn't effect anything significantly - Crusader and Warchest trails would remain the same as they were, and everything else. ADDITION: I tested the rest of stuff this evening, it doesn't work. I tried deleting all AIV files on my PC except those I want to use, but no success, the game started, but they weren't building any castles, they were just confused, and they were doing nothing... I believe that it would work if I put the same AIV files on both PC's, but there's no point in that, if I have in mind to play with other people that don't have to put those edited AIV files on their PC's. I didn't test that last thing, but I am almost sure that that doesn't require any testing.
  21. Thanks for the reply. Well, that is more complicated that I though it would be. I though I should be able to put one gate, say, "between steps 23 and 24", and the other gate "between steps 38 and 39". I will see if there are some fixes like that at SHG already - if not, I'll see if I find some time to remake that castle with two more gates. EDIT: It appears that it is possible to make small modifications. Sadly, after modifying the castle, those gates I had on mind will be almost the latest thing he is going to build, but I still believe that this will make him stronger, as his main problem in such situations was bad economy, which is going to be fixed. Also, I am not going to give him any more workshops, or something like that, I am only adding gates to his huge castles. Oh, and I just remembered - there is one Lionhearts castle with a problem with insufficient number hovels - he had just enough hovels while he is being attacked, but when he attacks and when he has all workplaces active he has 0 peasants. He needs one more hovels. I could do something else, such as removing one building from his economy, but I believe this is better solution.
  22. Hm, also, you didn't tell what version your friends have? Maybe you are fine - maybe you have 1.4.1, but your friends may have 1.4. Did you try to play with anyone else? I have 1.4.1, if you want, I could come online at some moment, so you could try it with me? You would only need to tell me when - we could meat at 21:00 for example, Central European timezone (Belgrade/Berlin).
  23. Hey, guys, I meant to ask if you have any experiences with edited AI castles in multiplayer? I mean, if the host has edited AI, and the others have original castles on their machines, what would happen? Would that AI build the castle from hosts AIV file, or the game would crash, or something like that? I've been playing few skirmish games, and mother did as well, and what bothers me is that large Lionhearts castle. He has great economy in there, but he also has only two gates - one inner and one outer, and if he has some farms, mines, or quarries on the other side of the castle, those people would have to go all way around the castle, and it is very likely for them to be killed - besides the fact they they need too much time to bring the necessary good to the stockpile or granary. I don't like to mess up with AIV files - I like to play the game the way it was meant to be played, but I still meant to fix only this thing is this looks like an omission of Firefly. I don't want to change entire castle, I would only add two gates, but I am interesting to know what you think about it, and if you have any experiences with this matter (would it work in multiplayer)?
  24. Yes, there are players who play Stronghold 2 on Windows 8. I think Chris is one of them. Maybe running Windows 7 compatibility might help? Whenever I had such problems, I tried all options available.
