Stronghold 3 - current state: performance and multiplayer
EaglePrince replied to EaglePrince's topic in Stronghold 3
Yes, I do realize that. I'll see about it, and if I get it, I would like to play a Stronghold 3 multiplayer game if the game wouldn't lag to me. Also, there is another thing - these days I have very little time, but now and then I could find some free time for that. Thanks for your help, Chris! If anyone else can tell something more, it would be more than welcome. :) -
Stronghold 3 - current state: performance and multiplayer
EaglePrince replied to EaglePrince's topic in Stronghold 3
That's nice to hear! Well, considering some features of the game, such as building walls in any direction, etc... it could be just the right game for those who want to build their village only. Can you tell anything about optimizing the game? Have they been doing anything about that? I admit, it's been several years now since the game was released, but maybe someone remembers if some later version was working smoother than the first release? -
Stronghold 3 - current state: performance and multiplayer
EaglePrince posted a topic in Stronghold 3
Hi, I have found out that I can get Stronghold 3 in my town - it would be a boxed version, and it's on an action, so it would be somewhat cheaper as well. I did try Stronghold 3 before, but I haven't owned my own copy yet, so I haven't tried the game after some later patches. I meant to ask you - did they improve the performance of the game by those later patches? Is the game better optimized than it was when it was released? I do realize it's been a while since the game came out, but I hope some of you guys remember. :) Also, the game doesn't have a skirmish, and people were making very little custom maps I think, and custom scenarios? For this reason I also meant to ask - are there some people that would play this game in multiplayer? I would need to know these stuff before buying, because if it isn't any better optimized, it could lag on my PC, and if no one would play it in multiplayer - there would be nothing I could do with it. :) I have noticed that there was no Stronghold 3 gaming event at Stronghold Nation. -
Hmm, is that the river flowing north, in opposite direction of sea? :)

I was looking a little bit at it, but I didn't find anything. I guess I should have looked a little bit more.

Great indeed! I have already subscribed myself for several categories. :) I also like how you made gallery now, it think it is way better! There is a small preview, short description, and one can download the image to see it in full size.

Today I was able to see the "new" tag for the new Crusader 2 map. :) -
Well, there are the ones I would mention. I don't play all of them, but I will mention those games I have spent the most time with, and those are the games I come back to now and then. Stronghold 1 Stronghold Crusader Stronghold 2 Empire Earth (1) Rise of Nations Age of Empires 3 Settlers; Path to a Kingdom Stronghold Crusader and Empire Earth are the games of my childhood. :)

Thanks for your reply as well. :) The more I hear - better! :) Yeah, I have already heard same stuff about AVG... Also, I did try to install it, and I did notice how resource demanding it was. :)

Great, so that's the same as I do. Thanks for all the advices, guys. :) ADDITION: Now I went to PayPal website. This is what one could see there: So, when someone pays using PayPal, he pays nothing for that service, while the one who is receiving the payment does? Is that the case? So, if I wanted to buy Stronghold Crusader 2 via PayPal, and it costs 34,99?, that's exactly how much I am going to pay? I pay no provision?
-
Thanks for your explanations guys. Yeah, I have already heard the same about PayPal - the recommended me in the bank already. I do know about the issue with having multiple antivirus programs. Because of that it is a good thing that many of those anti-malware tools offer real time protection as well (or at least I think that). Also, speaking about the website I could buy at - I should also pay attention if it doesn't seem vulnerable (if that would be even possible - so even better would be "don't buy stuff anywhere", and not to do it if you don't have to. :) ) Regarding MalwareBytesPro... I do use it now and then as well, only I don't keep it installed, to keep the PC working more optimal. Thanks for your advices guys. :) You both gave me a detailed answers on my question. :) ADDITION: Speaking of Malwarebytes Pro... I do have it, but it is MalwareBytes Anti-Malware (Free), and the only licenses offered are Free and Premium. Is it the free license you have, or there is a way to activate a Pro license another way?

Well, in that case, we could put few Lionhearts against us - he builds a small castle, but still - he is a good opponent. Especially if you give him more gold, as he would attack you with catapults and heavy armored units pretty early. -
Hey, guys, I meant to ask this one question, to hear what you think. I do realize we were speaking about these stuff before in another topic, but that was the tread for a specific treat. This time I want to ask you, what you think about what should someone do while buying something on internet regarding his\her security. For example, I use Avast Free antivirus, and now and then I clean the PC using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Emsisoft Emergency Kit, and I tend not to visit untrusted websites, but still - I'm not the only one using this computer. What are the exact dangers on the internet that might do us some harm, when we want to pay something online? Are those mostly untrusted websites that want to misuse the information we give them, and are viruses that try to steal our credit card info a relatively common as well? What do you think that one should do, in order to buy things on internet more safely, and not worrying too much if he has some malware on his computer, that might steal those important information? I believe I am the one who is the most skeptical about this matter here. :) The reason I am asking this, is because I was thinking this way: if I buy Stronghold Crusader 2 from Steam, or at any other reliable place, am I still in danger, and how much? What do you think - should someone who buys stuff online use a paid version of antivirus instead of free, and how much would that help? How much do you guys pay for your security (if you don't think it wouldn't be smart to write on internet what protection you use, you don't have to tell me that. Or you can tell me that over personal message)? Regards!

Hmm, and how about this thing..? To switch the keeps that would be meant for one of us, and the one keep which makes that problem to the AI? Maybe that could work? If you don't make it till tomorrow, it wouldn't be a big deal - we could play another map, or maybe - to play the same map ignoring the problem. -

Perhaps you could connect to internet in a different way, and install that driver? I know that's almost certainly something that crossed your mind as well, though... -

OK, we can play all together some other time as well. Speaking about this event - I shall leave it scheduled for Sunday, and I hope Lord Vetka, and somebody else would be able to play that day. If there would be only two of us, it would be interesting as well, but I do hope Chris made it to install Windows Vista, and Stronghold Crusader. -

Maybe we could be able to play today? It would be great if all three of us could play. -
Cool, that's why I love that they kept assassins in Crusader 2. :) They are keeping that element of surprise, and they, besides slaves as well I'd say, are few elements of the game that are making the game less predictible, which is really great! Also, it is really great when you manage to surprise your over-confident oponent. :) I'm sure this was really fun game to you, and I'm happy you have defeated your way more powerful enemy. :) Besides that, to guys such as Chris and I, this might be even more interesting, as we both love "Lord of the Ring" - we can easily relate. :)
