  1. Welcome to the community, Krarilotus. Unfortunately, I won't be able to participate in this one, I've been busy with other stuff these days. But the idea seams great to me, and I love to hear the news that now we can edit the AI castles even further. For example, now we can have Lionheart with crossbowmen instead of archers. Or perhaps we could even make Lionheard build more than four stone quarries... These are great things! Do you have some examples of custom castles somewhere, so we could see what have others done with this new tool? There are many people who try to make AI castles on their own, but few of them are actually good. People mostly focus either on design or on efficiency, and neglect the other one. But I have seen some really great castles at Stronghold Heaven. Like, a complete set of castles for Wazir for example (not sure if Wazir, but there are definitely packs for more than one lord), which all look beautiful and share some common features.
  2. I completely agree. And even about the unit collision, yes, be it real or "imitated", it is a welcome change that might effect the gameplay in a very good way. :)
  3. I am sorry for writing a reply about this so late. This is one of the errors. And the other one is: All this I typed manually now, from the screenshot. I hope I haven't misspelled anything.
  4. Me too! I'm looking forward to be able to play the map. :)
  5. I tried it now again to post a comment at Desert Breeze map. In Google Chrome on my phone I get the server error, while in Opera I get the incorrect cross site request error. I wanted to say that it would be nice if there were some link directly from the forum to the Downloads Central. A link in the hamburger menu would also do the job well. I mean, right now I don't see any direct link.
  6. This looks really cool. Even if one doesn't need it for purposes you mentioned, it's a feature that's been present in some games, like in Age of Empires 3 if I'm not mistaken, but no Stronghold game has it. I see from the video, it even has an AIV editor. Is that some kind of more user friendly AIV editor, or the usual one? Another interesting thing, the download is pretty small, less than a megabyte. You've made all this on you own from scratch? Really nice tool. I haven't tried it though. :)
  7. Got this famous error while trying to post a comment at the new Stronghold Crusader scenario, Desert Breeze. :( Didn't manage to post the comment at all I'm the end. One side note. I have noticed that with this new forum theme which is mobile friendly there is no link for the Downloads Central. Or I might be missing something... :)
  8. No, unit collision actually doesn't exist in Stronghold Warlords. It's just that, once they start fighting, standing, etc., then they move apart from each other. And troops are supposedly unable to bypass the defender now. We shall see how is that going to work, but it's just a simulation of unit collision. What we have in Age of Empires 3, or in Empire Earth, is what unit collision is. Or at least that's what I believe it is. :D I agree, it's about graphics settings. Only, if they have low settings, all relevant events should be visible even in low settings. In less detail, yes, but it has to be visible.
  9. I agree, these similarities with Crusader 2 seam to me also somewhat repellent... Simply, it's somewhat less exciting. I mean, it's almost 2020, and we still don't have unit collision, and it seams pretty bad to me in Crusader 2. We're playing a 3D game, and then seeing your troops fighting like that, it looks like they didn't do the job well. Another thing about Crusader 2: When I play the game in lower graphics settings, I don't see fire. I mean, you're troops are on fire, and you don't see it, you just see ashes and your troops losing health... I hope they will fix these things. Right now they do have more experience with this engine. Plus, I hope to see the moats. :) Regarding the look of the game... My guess is that they simply need to finish these things, and that is something they do tell a lot in their videos. And even if they are not going to make it in few months, then they'll just delay the release. Or at least I hope so. :) There was a message from them on YouTube recently. They said that their marketing team was on trip, promoting the game, and stuff like that... We should see another video of their progress some time soon. :)
  10. I saw the error: "Incorrect cross site request forgery token sent. You were referred to this page from an unauthorised source. If the issue persists please ensure that you are navigating around the forum by using the correct URL." right now. But last time when it happened, when I was trying to fix my message, it we worse. Refreshing wasn't helping at all. That's the one post you fixed. But something like that hasn't happened to me ever since. :)
  11. Hey guys, here's another video from Firefly about the new game. :) This is a 20 minute video in which you can have a closer look what is the gameplay going to be like, and to have a closer look to graphics. I like it, only I'm sceptical about those TNT cows, :D they seem overpowered to me.
  12. I agree with you. Right now, the most important thing is for Firefly to make s good game, and after seeing this, and their progress from Stronghold 3 to Stronghold Crusader 2, it seems promising. With SHW becoming a good and exciting game we could definitely get some more visitors. After all, this would be the only moderated community for Stronghold games. :) Plus, this might be similar to Stronghold Legends. A game with a lot of improvements from the previous game. Though in addition to that - I disliked the magic part in SHL, while I like this Far East thing. Oh... And I hope that Bessy won't be too powerful (those who watched the newest video until the end will know what I mean :) ), and that there will be moats unlike in SHC2. :)
  13. I think I got this error yesterday. In the Warlords thread I made a mistake when writing the url bbcode, and I was unable to fix it due to errors. I think it's the same error. I wanted to let you know about it, but now I see that the bad bbcode had been fixed (by someone :) ). Now I suppose that you have fixed done both - fixed my bbcode, and found the error? :)
  14. Hey guys, check out this new video. It looks really great if you ask me. I mean, this small cute castle, it resembles of castles from Crusader 1 or Stronghold 2, and detailed look much richer than in their previous videos. Now I'm really looking forward to try this new game. :) Plus, I see many people complaining about "outdated graphics", and in a way, that's a plus for me. :) It means that I should be able to play it on my PC's, and more importantly for the game - it is a continuation from Stronghold 3 and Crusader 2. Therefore, it should be a game made after Firefly learning on their mistakes and after Firefly learning some new tricks. And here's another, older, video of theirs about Stronghold Warlords, and the features.
  15. Hey guys! I've been away for a while. I went to vacation, just like many of my countrymen - to Greece. I've "charged my batteries", it was nice. Plus, it is a place which I have mentioned before - Toroni. They have remains of an old Bizantine stronghold, I saw it before - from a ship. This time I was able to come closer and walk across it, which satisfied my curiosity. Not much to see, pretty unsafe to walk around, but still interesting to be able to see at least some of it. My girlfriend likes sea, I like strongholds, so this was a neat compromise. :D I will post few pictures some time later. How are you guys doing? :)
  16. This is very useful, thanks for taking your time to write it down for everybody. Indeed, it tells a lot why Stronghold Legends is the favorite Stronghold game for many, here they really thought of everything. I'm even surprised that there are options to help the AI with the choice for siege camp positions, helping AI with where to send their archers and crossbowmen, etc. Fantastic! I mean, the only downside of SHL for me has been that it is not "realistic" like other Stronghold games, with all that magic, and stuff like that, but they truly made learned from their mistakes from Stronghold 2.
  17. Thank you very much, Mathew, happy to finally officially be part of the team! :)
  18. Definitely not late. :) Thanks. :)
  19. Thanks for the kind words Chris, and thanks for the trust! I am very happy with the promotion, and I will be honored to serve. :)
  20. This is an interesting video. Stronghold Warlords will kinda have unit collision. :) Well, better that than nothing, and hopefully we will get unit collision the next time. At this moment, when units move through other friendly units, their movement looks like they are moving between those other soldiers, and they are even pushing them slightly. Also, they can move in formations. Plus, more importantly, when they fight, it should be impossible to pass through enemy knights like in Stronghold 2, and and it should be impossible for large number of units to attack the smaller group all at once. We will see. :)
  21. Invision Power seems to be supported by Tapatalk. https://www.tapatalk.com/download_IPBoard Certainly, I don't wouldn't want to rush into anything either. Regarding switching forum software, I completely understand. I don't know much about it either. The only reason I pointed these out is because you mentioned how we could benefit from new players from Stronghold Warlords, and I think that at this moment most of the people, be it kids or somebody in their twenties or thirties, don't wait to get home to write something on internet, or read - they do it on the phone, in a bus, or whatever. And if we needed to experiment with something, it is easier when there are few of us who know each other, than when some new people start coming by. There are also these errors, such as the one we're having right now when submitting new messages. Maybe it wouldn't happen if the forum software was simply more up-to-date. But most importantly, I don't want to push anything, I'm fine with the forum as it is. :)
  22. We were speaking in the thread for the new Stronghold about mobile-friendliness of the forum, and about Tapatalk. Chris replied me there, and as he suggested, I decided to continue the conversation in a more appropriate thread. Firstly, yes, I completely agree that having a single app for us would not be the best for us. It's costly, like Chris said, plus even when it's done, it would need to be maintained... So we would just make things more expensive, and not that practical. Having to maintain at least two apps beside taking care of the website. That is what something like Tapatalk might be a good solution. In this case we would need to install a plug-in on our forum thanks to which people would be able to visit the forum through the app. This way the forum itself is not being hosted elsewhere. However, yes, I assume Chris is right that entire traffic would at least go through another server as well - at least for those users using the app. Another thing we were discussing before is that not all forums supported. But that would lead us to another possible conclusion. Maybe we could migrate the entire forum - to use another "engine" (or platform, I'm not sure what is the right term). It might be possible, for example, I have seen that many free blog platforms have the option to migrate everything from another platform into it. Maybe some modern forum templates/platforms would allow us to migrate the forum into it - and get mobile-friendliness. Maybe this would be a more practical way? To pick a platform which would give us more modern designs on its own, and possibly offer us done app of their own - if not Tapatalk, maybe something else. Tapatalk surely isn't perfect, there are things I don't like about it. For instance, within the app there are many ads, and for a user to remove the ads it's too costly in my option. It's something they would want to charge annually, though there is an option for the forum owner to pay to get rid of these ads for their visitor. And another downside is that the money from these ads go only to Tapatalk I think, though I'm not sure about that, and the owner of the website would loose even those few bucks from those discreet ads on the forum itself.
  23. Unfortunately, I couldn't be as helpful about that as much as I would like to. But I think this is another occasion where I could come up with Tapatalk. :) I really think that for this the forum has to become more mobile friendly. One way to do it is Tapatalk, or another application, and the other way would be making the forum itself more mobile friendly. Though I think the app can help gather more regular visitors, but either way - mobile-friendliness would allow players to visit the website on their phone while playing the game, and stuff like that. It's very hard to compete with Steam whose discussions can be accessed from within the game by Steam Overlay, and with Steam having its own app. I mean, one could say that the new generations are becoming more lazy, or we could simply agree that they are able to access most of the stuff far more comfortably than we used to be.
