That was me, but I didn't say, or at least I didn't want to say, that Stronghold Crusader 2 maps work on Stronghold Crusader Extreme. These are three different games: Stronghold Crusader Stronghold Crusader Extreme Stronghold Crusader 2 Stronghold Crusader 2 is entirely new game, it is totally unrelated to Stronghold Crusader and Stronghold Crusader Extreme. These are just different Stronghold games which happen to be based on Crusades. On the other hand, Stronghold Crusader Extreme could be called an expansion of Stronghold Crusader 1. And, therefore, Stronghold Crusader maps work in Stronghold Crusader Extreme. On the other hand, map files for Stronghold Crusader 2 are entirely different files from Stronghold Crusader Extreme map files, and SHC2 maps do not work in SHC-E. SHC maps, on the other hand, do work in SHC-E. I hope this helps.

To play a mutliplayer game with Crusader, you would need GameRanger. Download it, install it, log in (and create an account if you haven't done it before), and you would be able to play with others. I left some of the details out, but it's simple. And everybody who wants to play together with you would have to have the same version of the game as you. We could see to organize a gaming event at Stronghold Nation.🙂 I should be able to play this weekend. How are others doing doing weekend?🙂

Thanks Chris! That needed to be done. I tried it now, looks good! What I would suggest though would be to leave more clear space around stone keeps. This way computer lords would have more space around themselves to build their castles. Of course, some of them tend to build huge castles, but it is enough to leave at least a little bit free space for those smaller castles. Another thing. What might be a downside of Extreme is that, if you put those posts around the map for different players, it seems somewhat bad that this way the player doesn't have to rely on their economy. Maybe it would be more interesting to you if you played it without those posts?🙂 This way you would notice more easily that AI lords are actually crippled on maps where they can't fully build their castles, or where they don't have enough resources around their positions to develop and to send powerful attacks against your castle. Those posts compensate it, but imagine how much more fun it would be if the AI lords were able to build everything they need while having their troops from the posts as well.😉 By the way, would that be helpful for you to see a tutorial of how to start your economy in Crusader? How are you doing in general? People having enough food, and you have enough gold and weapons to train more troops? Although the best might be to simply play with others who would be willing to show you. That being said, I indeed don't know, maybe you are already great in those things, but I just wanted to offer.🙂

I think you may have mixed up several games here. You seem to be looking for Stronghold Crusader Extreme Mods? Warlords are present in Stronghold Warlords, which is the newest stronghold game, quite different from Stronghold Crusader Extreme. And LOTR and GOT, aren't those mods for Stronghold 2...😕 Could you share the link to those mods that you found?

I apologize, it might be the case that we misunderstood each other in the other thread. You should be able to put a Stronghold Crusader map into the Stronghold Crusader Extreme maps folder, and it should be available to play. However, Stronghold Crusader 2 maps are not compatible with Stronghold Crusader Extreme, those games are too much different. I hope this helps? What I wanted to say that time earlier is that you should be able to use tons of Stronghold Crusader maps in Stronghold Crusader Extreme. Because there are much fewer Stronghold Crusader Extreme maps out there than the Stronghold Crusader maps.

Hi, Ruby, there are tons of interesting maps for Stronghold Crusader. Now, you mentioned you like Stronghold Crusader Extreme, but if I'm not mistaken, even maps for Stronghold Crusader work for Stronghold Crusader Extreme. You would just need to copy those maps from the Maps folder into MapsExtreme. There is an option to build your own SHC-E maps, although I think it would be better for start to use maps made by others, and perhaps modify them a little bit. Custom Scenarios -> New Maps. As for multiplayer, no worries about that, you can even play against the computer in multiplayer games. Although that way it is mostly interesting only when playing with friends, and not with random people at GameRanger. And by "with friends" I mean with you boyfriend for example, or with us. 😄 Or all together! If you need any help, do ask! And my usual advice is to try making things harder for yourself. First you give yourself more resources and in the beginning and more resources around your castle, and later you will be able to give the computer lords greater and greater advantage. Strangely, even late in the game, computer lords fight much better when then start with more gold, for example! Sure, it does make sense to some extent, but I would expect it to catch up at some moment, but it doesn't, it would never attack as hard as if he had started with more gold in the beginning.

Nice review, Nigel! My entire impression with Crusader 2 as well was that it was too easy. Although I'm not a good Crusader 2 player, it is not easy for me to win the games, but my feeling is that one can learn to wipe the floor with the AI pretty fast. Mostly because the game seems much simpler than Stronghold 1 and Crusader 1. And what I disliked too was the fact that a weak PC affects how good you can play too much. For example, with lowest possible graphics settings you don't see fire in Crusader 2, you can only see the ashes as if the fire had been gone for a while. So you don't notice your army burning... Hopefully, they addressed this issue, but I don't lay my hopes into that. Now I have better desktop PC than when we used to our play Crusader 2 games. Also, does that depend on the stone keep, too? So, if you put the largest stone keep in a castle estate in the map editor, would the player have the pop limit 120, or something like that?

Painting models seems fun to me. The only time I got hands on a model as a kid was when my father bought one. Only then he realized it needs to be assembled.[emoji23] It seemed cool to me too assemble it, but I was too young and father was too lazy, so he gave it to another dude who liked doing it.[emoji1] And then, after some time, we got the airplane all assembled and painted.[emoji1] It just needs to have patience to finish it, I guess, and now when Paul mentioned it, maybe I could see around where I could buy a model, and try to do it myself. I didn't know about Instant Gaming before. Good to know, though I guess Firefly does earn money from that perchance either way? Only they will get few euros less, I guess. Yup, the game seems good to me too. And yes, I feel the same as you do about Stronghold 3 and Crusader 2. The optimization on one hand, and on the other hand, Crusader 2 just doesn't seem that much fun to me like Stronghold 2, Stronghold 1, or Crusader 1... Maybe it would be much better to me if they did a better job with fire: in lower graphics you just don't see them fire, you can see only ashes... While Stronghold 3, although it is buggy and doesn't have skirmish mod, it has some pleasant atmosphere. I hope I'm going to see both, those gameplay features and the atmosphere in Warlords. That is strange... So the greatest lord screen appears after you press the C keyboard button? (As I don't see any connection between selecting troops and popping up the greatest lord window.) Maybe it's because of your mouse or keyboard? Maybe one of them is faulty. For example, if the mouse "jumps randomly" I'm different directions, that could cause you problems like this. This is why I have replaced several mice already. Now, a sidenote about grammar... God, should I tell "I broke several mice while playing Stronghold", or "mouses"?
