1. I'm not entirely sure where they are stored. I've never come across them before, all I can guess is that they're hard-coded in the exe.
2. The en us xml file is just for languages. It would require some kind of advanced modification to have the ability to add a completely new action in the editor. Personally, this is way past my level of knowledge.
3. Thanks for this. I'll upload it to the download section. :)
4. Your challenge is: Create a basic Kingmaker or Multiplayer map for Stronghold 2. The map should accommodate a maximum of 6 players and have various concealments on it. This can be any size of map, with any amount of landscaping effects, rivers, trees, or anything you so desire! If no entry is attached (via .zip. then your entry will not be counted! The results will be revealed on Sunday.. Good luck everyone!
5. I don't believe this is possible - I've tried this in the past and it didn't work for me either.
6. Unfortunately, yes, it is too late. :(
7. I'm not sure why, what antivirus do you have? But yes, you're both right - it's not needed for this challenge.
8. What isn't working? Did you follow all the steps in this tutorial: http://www.stronghold-nation.com/article/195-unarchiving-stronghold-3-files
9. I actually bought it with Windows 10, so they refused to help me on the issue because they don't support downgrading.
10. As bad as Windows 10 really is (and it is) I wouldn't recommend installing an older operating system unless you know what you're doing and what drivers it will need, along with if they're actually available. My new computer is an Acer and I completely fresh installed Windows 8 on it, and Acer removed all the Windows 8 drivers from their website in an attempt to try and force you to use Windows 10. Therefore, internet (both wired and wireless) didn't work, the touchpad didn't work (and still doesn't) and there were lots of other errors, such as with the PCI Communications Controller, which I still can't resolve. I downloaded the Windows 10 drivers, and luckily, many of them worked. But my graphics driver will crash a lot, I get frequent blue-screens and there are a lot of errors. Sometimes I will lose the wireless internet connection too, meaning I have to restart my machine.
11. There are still no entries yet and the contest closes tonight! Remember that you have to paste the link of your image into this thread as well as upload it!
12. I don't think they intend to do anything about the problems at all. Particularly with SafeDisc because they are responsible for disabling it. So any games that don't run will never run again - that require a disc, anyway. I don't think Microsoft care enough to compensate users. ;)
13. That's the font colour of the text @Crusader1307 used. :)
14. I'll move this to Computer Support, just because it is more computer related and there aren't many topics there at the moment. Personally, I don't recommend using Windows 10 for any games, since a lot of them are broken on it. Windows 7 & 8 also have the same problem, but it is possible to allow them to work. I've personally experienced this problem with Stronghold Crusader and on my new computer this was the reason the game would not load. The game will install, but not run - it's extremely frustrating, and it's all due to SafeDisc being disabled. Windows 10 cannot do anything to resolve this problem - but it is possible on Windows 7 or 8. See: http://myonlinesecurity.co.uk/september-2015-windows-updates-kb3086255-breaks-many-games/ In fact - I downgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 8.1 on this machine. I'm not sure about a performance increase too, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if with Windows 10 came a performance decrease, like a lot of other things.
15. Thanks for this! I don't seem to be able to edit the GR2 files with this, though, how can you load them? The option is always greyed out.
16. No, you can't edit styles, you can only choose styles that are available. I look forward to seeing some of those screenshots. :)
17. Looks like it's some kind of a mod to me (see the link in the video description). The website doesn't appear to be live though, so I'm not sure how you will manage this since you can't download the files. I second @EaglePrince though - it looks like it's some kind of exploit.
18. You can visit the site on a mobile, and it adjusts fairly well - however, it isn't perfect and I'm sure there will be some devices that can view it better than others. If you choose 'pantherone' as your style then it is fully responsive.
19. I think you can also use Fire Ballistas, but I'm not sure about those. That's not a problem, it would be great :)
20. Looks like you're using WordPress, your hosts' advice will not be valid for it - obviously it was some generic advice ... See this link for WordPress specific: http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-install-google-analytics-in-wordpress/
21. The challenges are starting to progress now, exposing you to parts of the game that hopefully you would never otherwise encounter. Your challenge for this week is: Create a custom load screen for Stronghold 3 symbolising a night raid on a wooden village. Once completed, upload it to our Gallery. The image can be in any format (other than bitmap), the colour schemes can be up to you - the load screen can be a mixture of a in-game screenshots, custom artwork, already existing load screens or anything you so desire! Useful resources http://www.stronghold-nation.com/article/195-unarchiving-stronghold-3-files http://www.stronghold-nation.com/downloads/file/349-modifying-utility/ Note: Your entry must be uploaded to our gallery by Midnight on Saturday to be counted in this challenge (20/2/16 23:59). Please also post a link to your image in this thread so we know it is part of the challenge The results will be revealed on Sunday. Good luck everyone!
22. This was indeed a very challenging map. I managed this on my second try, only because on my first I activated the dragons by going next to the ice blockade with the Lord. I managed to do it by using the cache of gold that was given to create two ice tunnel entrances, one next to the bridge and one in the estate, and I used the Lord and the Dwarf to go through the ice tunnel. They captured the Stone Circle and then I won. However, I'm not entirely sure this was in fact how it was meant to be done :D I went back into the map and started from scratch, and after a few attempts, remembered that you could build a wood camp without any wood. This was the point which allowed me to start the mission properly. Once I had an economy up and running, and a food industry going, I turned towards the dragons. I purchased two catapults, and after some time, I slayed all the dragons at no additional expense. It's a very good mission and you need to think a lot to get past certain parts of it. I gave you three points for this challenge, because of the level of detail, and the complexity to the map. As per a suggestion a few days ago, I have completed the results page, which can be found here: http://www.stronghold-nation.com/community/52-weeks-of-stronghold-winners/ You can also access it from the navigation menu on the main site: Community -> 52 Weeks of Stronghold Winners Congratulations on being entered into the draw once again!
23. I'm lost here, I have no idea at all why this could be happening. I've fixed something to do with attachments on the next version of the forum (Changelog), and when I download and use a fresh copy of that, it will work on there. It was a while ago though, so I can't remember exactly what it was that I changed now. In fact - it was when you reported that bug @Nigel. For now, is it possible to make do with logging out or opening another browser? I understand this is a massive pain, but it will probably be more of a pain for me to debug it and try to find out exactly what the problem is again, especially since I'm not getting it.
