I can see the map here just fine, I have no idea why you can't. I can also view it as a guest, are you sure you can't even view it as a guest? I've double checked the permissions again and you should be able to see it. What about the first one, can you see that one too? -
Brilliant! Looking forward to seeing it. :)

Sorry for the delay in replying here, haven't had a chance to look at it until now. If you open up the file 'lang.txt' (in the same folder) what is your language there? I'm guessing it's the same as me, you have en. In which case, create a backup of en.xml, and replace that with the same file you downloaded as well as en-us.xml. This should work, if it doesn't let me know. I'll update the downloads page with information on this too. Also, would you be able to give me a link to the 1.1a patch download you used? I'll upload it here - since there seems to be no reliable source I can find for it, it may prove useful for those hoping to patch up.

Ok, I'll leave that file until you upload a corrected version. -
Well as I said earlier, it depends on how your site is configured. It's pretty much like the question how long is a piece of string. Is the site stored locally, or on a webserver? If it's local, just open it in a text editor such as Notepad, or Notepad ++ (free, which is what I use). If it's stored on a webserver, then your host should have given you some kind of FTP or online file manager you can use to edit it.

The latest approved map is: http://www.stronghold-nation.com/downloads/file/398-necropolis-twins/ I can approve the current one in the queue and you can update that though, if you want? -

Could you let me know the submission number so I make sure I get the right submission? The learning campaigns should be editable just like any other map, just make sure you copy it out of the steam folder first, and out them somewhere like your desktop, where you have full permission to edit, delete .etc, and you have a backup of the file. -
Without knowing your website layout it's almost impossible to tell. Templates? Is there a template anywhere? I assume you'll be using PHP, so do you have the HTML in the standard PHP file mixed with it or have it separate? The Google Analytics code should go in the section of the document: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1008080?hl=en

Here is patch 1.2: http://www.stronghold-nation.com/downloads/file/56-12-patch-update/ I can't find a reliable source for 1.1a, so let me know if you can't install it and I'll take another look.

Actually the attachment has been uploaded and I can see it here. I changed some permissions and you should? be able to access them now. Attachment permissions should be the same in each forum, so let me know if you still can't view or download them. -
Wonderful, thanks! I'll see how quickly I can get some articles up, I still have some from @Tokamaps to do - massively lagging behind on my duties here :(
-
Great, good luck @Nigel! We're looking forward to seeing what you can come up with =)

Your challenge for this week is: Explore the Stronghold Legends editor and create something with custom messages in. This can be any form of map, any size, any scenario type. Just make it playable, with a win and lose condition, and include at least 1 custom message! Useful resources http://www.stronghold-nation.com/downloads/file/361-additional-messages/ Note: Your entry must be attached to this topic by Midnight on Saturday to be counted in this challenge (14/2/16 23:59). If no entry is attached (via .zip. then your entry will not be counted! The results will be revealed on Sunday. Good luck everyone!

You're posting some great guides here, thanks @Frankel. I'm sure you will help a great many people with them. Would you mind if I add a few as actual articles on the main site for better visibility? Perhaps you might even like to setup a help thread in this forum where people can post on it for help with the missions?

Announcing Stronghold's biggest ever competition!

Not quite sure what you mean by "pass or clear", but yes, you won it clearly. -
Good to know the issue was resolved. Let us know if you have any more questions! :)

Announcing Stronghold's biggest ever competition!
Lord_Chris replied to Lord_Chris's topic in The Town Crier
That's a good idea @Nigel. I'll try and make a dynamic real-time results board on the main site that will be linked to every week, that could help improve competitiveness. @Tokamaps - you won week 1 ;) -
You're clearly not doing something slightly right, but from your description I can't quite tell what it is. Maybe it might be best if we saw what you were doing. Would you be willing to video it for us?
-
I extracted it to the desktop first, then made the change. Once I did that, I changed the file extension then archived it all back up again. In one test, I did cut but as long as you're changing the file extension it should be fine anyway. When you edit the file extension can you see the '.txt' part (or '.ed')?
-
That's a huge shame Nigel! Hope you have a good weekend though :)

I'm not quite sure why, what happens? Does the file extension disappear or do you get some kind of message?

Maps are located in the folder \Steam\steamapps\common\Stronghold Crusader 2\assets\maps for Stronghold Crusader 2, and \Steam\steamapps\common\Stronghold3\assets\maps for Stronghold 3.
