Norse Mythology and Religious Beliefs (Pre-Christian), are quite in-depth and at times complicated. The Warrior Race had definite opinions of The ‘’Spirit World’’. And while some may think The Norse were not so superstitious, They did have several beliefs which involved Ghosts. For The Norse, People did no return as Spirits or Haunts. Animas however, occupied a particular special place in Spirituality. Such was a ‘’Fylgia’’ or ‘’Accompanying Spirit’’. Such Animal Guides were thought to travel thru life with certain ‘’chosen’’ or ‘’special’’ people. These Animal Spirits  were from such as Bears, Foxes, Dogs, Cats and certain Predatory Birds. The particular traits of a person attracted (at birth), such Spirits. They often caused One to ''think before acting’’ or to ‘’rationalize’’ before some great task. Much like other Cultures who follow a similar concept, Fylgia would ‘’appear’’ to Their charges in dreams. However, should a person be awake and ‘’sees’’ His Fylgia – this was an omen of impending death.
