I meant to ask, what to you think about having a different forum layout over here. The reason I'm asking this is because we have Stronghold Crusader 2 now, and it is all way down now, and if someone wanted to see it, he would have to scroll all way down. This is one of the reasons in fact, but it is the most important one, but I also don't want to tell this is very much important. I'm just opening a discussion, to hear what you think. My suggestion would be to put games in this order: Stronghold Crusader 2 Stronghold 3 Stronghold Legends Stronghold 2 Stronghold Crusader Stronghold Stronghold Kingdoms CivCity Rome Another option would be: Stronghold Stronghold Crusader Stronghold 2 Stronghold Legends Stronghold 3 Stronghold Crusader 2 Stronghold Kingdoms CivCity Rome Again, I don't say I am sure that we need this, I'm just asking for opinion, and I've got feeling how Crusader 2 shouldn't be all way down there. :)

Epic Stronghold Crusader II Battles!
EaglePrince replied to Mathew Steel's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
I have just read the story, it seems like a great battle. Considering to your story, Stronghold Crusader 2 did turn out to be a nice game - I hope they will also add some more features in future - such as those laddermen I've been speaking about. It's nice how you were able to send each other resources. By the way, were you able to send those instantly, or you were sending it like in Stronghold 2, using carters? I did notice Crusader 2 has carters, so I guess the answer is obvious, but I still had to ask. :) Also, if you did have to send your resources this way, I'd say it was even more fun. One more thing I was glad to read about was how Caliph was resisting! I'm glad to hear that Firefly did make it to make Caliph a difficult opponent to kill. I must admit I was skeptical about that after seeing his castle design. -
If I got that right, it does come with the game, but it is not ran from the game - one can start it from Steam, before starting Crusader 2. Nevertheless, I should tell, I do have the game, I read this on a forum. :)

Stronghold Crusader 2 map in downloads section
EaglePrince replied to EaglePrince's topic in Site Questions and Support
I don't have my own copy of the game yet, but I am sure this will serve at least to some players, who like to share their maps. :) I will mention to that guy at Crusader 2 forum, that he can upload his maps here. -
Hi, I meant to ask do we have sections for Stronghold Crusader 2 maps in our downloads section. I saw one guy over at Stronghold Crusader 2 forum who uploaded his maps to some random file hosting website, and I wanted to recommend SHN downloads central, but I didn't see any section for Stronghold Crusader 2 maps. I do realize that players will be able to share maps using Steam, but I believe many will still continue to use this method, because this way one could share the link to his master-peace, it would be way easier. I mean, I do admit I don't know how it works at Steam, but I guess one wouldn't be able to send the link to his map uploaded to Steam?

Stronghold Crusader II, Review!
EaglePrince replied to Mathew Steel's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
"Against AI lords so no need to worry about losing :) " Hehe, speaking of that - you may just ask me how to setup the game, and to lose - it's a appear I am the expert here for putting too hard games for myself and my team. :) At least when playing original Crusader. -
Stronghold Crusader II, Review!
EaglePrince replied to Mathew Steel's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
I must tell I am very glad to see so many good reviews of the game. I see also those players complaining about bugs in the game, but I do have that much fate in Firefly to believe they will fix those bugs and issues. I will ask in my the store in my town if they are getting Crusader 2, so I could get boxed version. If not, I will see about the Steam, but definitely I will not rush into anything. I still want to see those bugs fixed, but I am an optimist about all this right now, and I believe Firefly will do a good job with this new game. There are still few things I think the game is missing, such as siege towers and laddermen, but since they were added in Stronghold 3 in some later patch, I hope they would do something similar with Stronghold Crusader 2. Laddermen were part of any medieval siege, and they should be having their place in Crusader 2 in my opinion. :) Thanks for that nice review Mathew! I haven't tried the game, but I agree with those things you said - which would apply in general. For example, what you said about user interface, and right-clicking to move troops. There are many games that use that right click, and it does have it's advantages. Speaking about interface - we will get used to it. Also, about what you said about 3D - I am sure there is no one who wouldn't like 3D. 3D is a great feature, and I do like it. The only thing I was worrying is performance, and them not being able to put some other features such as moats and other stuff. Now I shall wait to see how's Firefly doing fixing those bugs and issues, and like I said - to see if there's any chance of buying a boxed version (although I wouldn't be buying it right away). -
So this was my mighty castle! Well, truth to be told, it is not that mighty, but the army that was controlled from that castle was mighty indeed! Also, from this image you can see only the inner castle, while entire economy was protected by two-layer wall. I really enjoyed playing this game! Thanks Mathew for this great map. :)

I like it very much - right now I am about to kill Hammer, I took over his northern village. Also, I wasn't expecting that huge attack after killing the Bull - I did lose two villages during those fights, but after everything I got them back. It's not that I was in danger, but that did slow down the economy for one moment, and my eastern village had to recover - it lost a lot of population. You did great job with both - map making the map itself, and with the scripting as well! I've already said it few times, like Stronghold Crusader skirmish the most, but after coming to Stronghold Nation, I saw how one can create great scenarios in Stronghold 2, and those are way more interesting in Stronghold Crusader. If we speak of that aspect of the game, Stronghold 2 is way better than Crusader, and your scenario is another one that shows that fact. :) ADDITION: I will also post picture of my castle from the game. :)

Welcome to StrongholdNation, xiiMaRcLeoN! I've added you to the list, and I hope to see you soon at some battlefield! I'd also like to say - we do not play multiplayer games only against each other - we also play games against AI lords, so if you would like to play some game like that, feel free to create a gaming event. Still, those games against AI lords were only Crusader or Crusader Extreme games, but the point is - we play whatever we like, and whatever we play, it is interesting. :) -
The map is great - I can see you put some time into this, and I like scenario. I haven't finished it yet, but I will soon - now I have finished the mission to rescue William. After I finish the scenario, I will finish the other Welsh crest you asked for, and I would write a review for the scenario. You really did a great job!

"new items" tag missing at downloads section

That's great to hear! I'm glad you know what the problem is. For now, I am able to see if there are any new files by the date of the latest file submitted. -
"new items" tag missing at downloads section
EaglePrince replied to EaglePrince's topic in Site Questions and Support
New items were submitter, and still nothing. I went to download Mathews map, and there was no "no items" link. Just reporting. Also, that option was working to me until some moment - before a month or so. -
That's too bad, but still, I saw we can have a lot of fun even without that. :) Unfortunately, I doubt they are going to do anything new on Stronghold 2, but that thing, including our own crests to be visible to other players, would be great - if they added those. Speaking about those crests... I have decided not to use my own crests in Stronghold 2 - at least not when I play multiplayer. Those are great ideas, but still, as there will always be someone who would leave his original crests as they are - there wouldn't be much point in that. :( I guess I will use my own crest in singleplayer only, but for multiplayer I will use only the original one. Maybe I simply have to take it the way it is. :)

We had an exciting game yesterday - it was really great. One thing crossed my mind during the game though... All the time we were chatting all together - and also I haven't noticed any option to speak only to my ally. Is that possible in Stronghold 2 multiplayer to chat with your ally only? I believe I had at least one more question, but I forgot about that. :) I guess I will remember that later. :)

It looks good! :) I downloaded the map, and I hope I will try it soon. :)

And I'll be the first in line to read your review. :)

That sounds good. :) -
I'll just wait a little, until I read some reviews, and until I hear what others think about the game. After watching those game-play videos, I don't expect much - they've put out lots of stuff, and it what is putting me away, but still - it can turn out to be a good game, although I'm skeptical. I haven't seen any maps large enough - there is one they said is huge, but it looks small to me. Also no moats, no laddermen, no siege towers, no tunnelers... Also, they don't give up 3D, even though they are not able to make some features look good in it, after what they just gave up those features. :| The units are still overlapping as wel. But who knows. Besides that, a game that costs 50 euro is an expensive game, and if I give that money, I would expect it to be perfect. Also, I don't like what they do with those shields... There are limited number of them, and they are offering some more of them only to those who pre-order the game. We know it wouldn't be a problem to make those features - to make those shields like in Stronghold 2, and also visible to others at multiplayer. If I was selling something 50 euro, it would have to be perfect, so I expect the same from them. Just to add - that thing with shields - those shields are indeed least important - what matters most is game-play and features. For what I have seen by now, the old Crusader might remain better than this new one.

Sometimes it is better to play harder maps - with less resources, and less space for everything. Still, whatever map we choose, it will be great! -
When you start GameRanger, you should have your friends window open - on top of that windows, you can right-click your name, and choose show info. Then you should be able to see your account ID. I hope to see you at one of our Stronghold 2 or Stronghold Crusader events as well! ;) ADDITION: Also, if you want to add some friends, you don't always need their ID's. If you play with someone, before or after the game, while you are in the room, you can right-click his name, and choose add to friends. You can do similar thing when someone chats with you at GameRanger. Still, if you want to add some of us, or someone you know - but not from a game at GameRanger, then account ID is the best way to find those friends you want to have in your friends list. After that you will be able to see if each of them is online at some moment.

Count me in. It's about time for me to join a Stronghold 2 game. :) -
It depends of players you play with. Some players are team workers, while some only look after themselves. Mostly that is not the case - mostly team mates help each other, by sending each other needed resources - especially food if it's needed, they work together when attacking, and if you besiege one of them, the other would come, and try to help him attacking your invading troops. Still, I have to admit - sometimes I was deciding to attack alone rather than waiting for my ally to join me in attack. In those situations they would tell me "pls, wait, we will attack together", but if I see that the enemy is growing stronger, I try to attack on my own, so I would at least weaken him, or not let him grow strong as would like to. :) Still, we would perform the next attack together, of course; and all that - if we are in position to attack, if we are not in position to save our lives. :) Playing against human lords can be really interesting, and sometimes, human players can really surprise you, which is really great! I'm sad how Charles is not able to play with us, as he used to be - games with him were really fun. He tends to build a small castle, and a small economy (smaller than mine), but he was using those resources in pretty good way. In a multiplayer game with him you would see the best parts of playing games with humans. :)
