If it happens during both attempts, then it's likely game ranger related, or possibly (though I've never heard of it) could be an IP ban, or your IP could have accidently been blacklisted. You can find this at http://whatismyip.com, and you could ask game ranger support if they've blacklisted you here. I would recommend changing your IP before trying to use GameRanger again. To do this, do the following: Hold WINDOWS (Icon) + R -> Type "C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe" -> When it appears, type "ipconfig/release" (press enter) -> "ipconfig/renew" (press enter) You may temporarily lose your internet connection, but once you have entered the second command it should come straight back (it does for me). Also, your gameranger should have updated recently (about one or two weeks ago). If it hasn't updated on your machine then you can download the latest version (to reinstall it) from here The antivirus wouldn't flag gameranger, it's a trusted application and there is nothing suspicious about it really - he says his firewall is off in his last post. That firewall you've taken a picture of is only the simplified version, and doesn't always work. You should really use the advanced firewall in the Microsoft management console, as I did in this topic. But if it happens with more than one game, it's not a game related issue, likely either OS or application related. What is your operating system? We also fully respect the diversity of languages, and the fact that some users may not speak it very well or as their first language, however, not all members can speak a language other than English and we need to make sure these forums appear readable an in uniform. For that reason, we do ask that you post in English instead of Spanish. As stated in our TOS, you are welcome to include a foreign language in your signature (I.E. A quote) providing it is translated into English as well.

I'll add Skype in shortly, I'll edit this post once it's in. -
Knight Errant is higher than Knight Banneret. It was originally going to be you're right, but when adding them I researched it and found this:

It is, but I don't really think it's that necessary really. Skype, possibly, I'll see but I don't know anything about it as I've never used it - what would a user enter? -
I've just remembered we're going on holiday tomorrow so I wouldn't be able to play today anyway - sorry.

Welcome to the forums! :) **** Thread Split **** @jsgg25: It's easier to create a new thread on specific problems :) Beat me to it... Maybe it could be just temporary maintenance, have you been able to reliability repeat it or does it only happen occasionally?

That's against the terms of use of the game. You aren't allowed to give game files to people.

*** ICQ replaced with GameRanger ID in your profile *** Any other changes (which I would appreciate, the entire section is outdated) should be posted in site questions / support.

It should be easier to find, it took me a couple of minutes to find it as well. @Charles of Tours showed me another way as well, but I couldn't find that.
-
I didn't make it - it was part of the forum by default :) I'll remove one of the fields from the messaging section and replace it with that, it makes more sense, plus they are way out dated anyway. And I've just answered :) http://forums.stronghold-nation.com/post/1044/#p1044

Gameranger -> on the "friends" menu, right click on your username (in bold) -> show info

Assassins in Stronghold 2 are a lot harder to kill, and in number, they can easily kill enemy lords. It would be better having no assassins in stronghold 2.
-
And if I got that right, it should also be 6 PM my time? That will probably be me - I can't seem to get back into the SHC routine now :)

To make multiplayer matches fairer, we have decided to come up with a set of rules to stop any cheating for Stronghold Legends, just to make sure that all players are on the same page at the start of the game. Any users who continuously ignore these may be banned from taking part in further multiplayer matches. Dragons cannot be used to attack the lord. They can attack any other unit, but as @Charles of Tours experienced, it abruptly ends your game. Sorry for that :) Fantasy Units cannot be used in excess; you can use fantasy units (as that is down to your own strategy) but please refrain from spawning millions of the more powerful ones. I.E. Frost Giants, Vampiric Creepers.etc. Siege equipment: Rather than banning all the powerful siege equipment (which to be honest is a shame) you can not use them in excess. These include Stake Hurlers, Trebuchets, Fire Ballistas Buildings: All buildings can be placed No excess white witches and crossbowmen to stop spam and complete destruction of enemy units easily. These may get updated at a later date, so stay tuned for edits.

Certainly seems like a good idea. Thread Stuck. I'll do the same for Legends. @ Bradley: would you like to do the one for SH2?
-
I haven't solved my installation issue yet, and if I'm perfectly honest I don't really think that I'll be able to either. I only see two options: 1.) I install it on my windows 7 machine (if it works) and play there, or connect with remote desktop and play from my laptop. 2.) I install it there and attempt to copy the files across (which is highly likely to fail due to the fact SHC has registry entries) I'll let you know how it goes, but for the moment just assume I'm out.

Thank you. Issue fixed. :)

The moat for SHL is located at /Stronghold Legends/terrain/river/moat.bik, and yes, it is the same file. You should be able to switch those and it should change the moat in SH2.
-
Nope, it's been compiled, and it's irreversible to my knowledge. But it's not legal anyway. The second part isn't probably very easy to do, because of the fact that the file types are completely different and are made up of different files for those.
-
If you only want it to look different, then all you need to do is open the file /stronghold 2/terrain/river/moat.bik and edit it. Please note that it would still take up the same amount of space on a map. You can convert it from a bink file to being editable/openable ?/viewable by downloading rad game tools and converting it with that.

Sorry for not replying sooner, I didn't see this message and it didn't appear as new when I logged in. Try clearing your browser cache, I changed the links and it may not have been refreshed yet. Whoops, I was clicking on the links in the paragraph, not the heading links. Issue fixed - thanks! -

There are spaces, in your image URL. When you add %20 instead of the spaces, this is the result: -
