Yes, Congratulations @Nigel, fir getting all 3 points. :) I've taken the first entry you added (dugin_02.sh2) because it's the one which you were closest, you really did do well on that one! The second one was unfortunately just too late, but you also did a good job there too, it is a very rough map. You just missed out on the first one, really unlucky!

Congrats for getting an entry in. This was an exceptionally hard challenge, so I can understand you not beating it! [user]eagleprince], I hope you can manage to get an entry in today. :) Last chance for entries today!
-
I'm sure your map will be great as well. While we can't mark it here for this challenge anymore, you could upload it to the downloads section and we could rate it there. :)
-
That sounds really unfortunate @Nigel. I've attempted this map myself in the past and did really well, right up until the point where my game crashed. Every subsequent attempt after this also crashed my game, so I never managed to complete it. :( If no-one can actually manage to complete it, then if you upload the game where you got the furthest the person who got the furthest (and quickest) will win.

Lord_Chris replied to Steinhardt's topic in Site Questions and Support
Hi there @Steinhardt, Sorry for the problems you've been having. I recently updated the forum three days ago and this is why the error is now happening on the site. I thought I'd fixed all of the problems that were caused on the main site, but it seems I had missed one. I do apologise for this, this error has been fixed now. Let me know if you're having more problems. -
It's completely up to you! I've also added an image to the original post of the castle which should help you a bit. :)

I don't believe there is a version of Stronghold Legends on Mac. In regards to multiplayer, Stronghold Legends multiplayer is now managed through Game Ranger.

It was the incorrect challenge I posted, so I changed them when I realised.

Congratulations @Tokamaps, on a truly five star map! The landscaping of this map was extremely impressive, one of the best detailed maps of that size I've ever seen. The animations .etc. at the start were also very good and set the storyline well. You hereby win this challenge, and receive 3 points! Could you also upload this to the downloads section - I think a lot of people would like to see this map. :) Also, if you send me a PM with the title you'd like, I can get that changed for you.
-
You just post in the Competitions forum but instead of getting redirected back to your topic, you get redirected to the forum. I (and the rest of the team) will get a notification once it's been posted so it can be approved straight away.

Welcome @Timballisto! Fantastic to have you here with us =) I promoted you so you can now post links here, and have all the other privileges too - welcome! As Crusader says, we have an excellent downloads section, set of articles and Gallery - we even have our very own History Quiz and regularly updated threads on History, Myths and UFOs and Conspiracy theories in The Open Castle Inn! If you would like to contribute at all, please don't hesitate! :D In regards to your contest, I've promoted you now so you should be able to post an official topic in the Competitions forum (if you'd like), but it will need approval first by a staff member. The reason for this is to prevent people from spamming the Competitions forum of creating posts in there filling it up with unofficial competitions, .etc. In other words, it's to keep it to a real list of competitions.

You'll have a wireless adapter, I presume, but this is exactly what I thought was wrong - it appears to be a very common problem with both Windows 8 & Windows 10, that people lose their internet connection easily and don't get wireless communication. If I have the right computer, the Acer Aspire you added in your initial post, then from what I've seen it should have a wireless adapter. I certainly would be extremely surprised if it didn't. I would also recommend you check in Device Manager again under "Network Adapters" and let me know if you can see anything. So the problem is that whatever driver you've installed for wireless communication is not working. Unfortunately, you're in the same boat as me; Acer have removed all the drivers for any version of Windows other than Windows 10 in an attempt to force people to upgrade, so if the Windows 10 drivers don't work, basically, wireless is broke on your computer. Luckily in my case, my computer came with Windows 10 pre-built, so it does work in a fashion on Windows 8. But you're using an older driver on a newer system, so I'm not so sure it will. The only other option is to try and somehow get your hands on one of your old wireless drivers, but again, it doesn't really look as if that could work, because it probably isn't compatible with Windows 10 - and where you'd find them, I have no idea. You can download the correct drivers for your device here: http://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/drivers
-
Ah, ok - I understand it now. Yes, it's definitely a driver error. The reason why your computers can't connect even when connected to the router is because the router is purely for internet access, you're assuming by connecting to the router it will automatically give you wireless access around, which it doesn't. For this, you need the specific wireless communication driver which allows your computer to connect and view wireless devices. In other words - the reason you can't get Wi-Fi and the reason you can't connect to those computers is down to a fault in the exact same driver. Here's a quick test. Check if your WiFi is actually enabled or visible - I was using Windows 8, so the accessibility may or may not be there in the same manner. But for me, the option wasn't even visible because the driver wasn't installed. I've just checked, and it appears from this link above, you can get it through the settings app, which is what I used. See under Managing your wireless connections on the page I link to. If the symptoms are exactly the same, you should also have some kind of red icon saying no Wi-Fi is available once you've unplugged your Ethernet cable:
