The short lived Van Dorn Motor Company attempted to capitalize on American involvement in World War I, with their version of an Armored War vehicle. The White was a rugged and well made vehicle. Featuring 4 vulcanized rubber pneumatic tires. They were protected by from wheel plates. Completely enclosed by 30 Armor plates ranging from .015 to 0.25-inches of steel, it crewed 3 men. A 4-cylinder, The White had an impressive 45-mph land speed over various terrain. Weighing 3-tons, The White was armed with a single 7.62.mm Machine Gun in a fully revolving Turret. Only 1 prototype Model was made and field tested by the US Army. Unfortunately, with The War coming to a close, they did not choose to purchase them.
