Dating from the 6th Century BC, until as late as the 3rd Century AD – ''Tutu'' was an Egyptian God that was described as a Hybrid of Lion with the head of a Man. Not to be confused with the mythical Sphinx – Tutu was a malevolent Being, who was tasked with keeping nightmares and other ''dangers of sleep'' from entering into the ''realm of Humankind''. An early example of using Icons (Statutes) in a Deities image, Tutu statuary was used in both Royal and Common Homes alike. Offerings of bread and goose meat were seen as a means of appeasement.
