A Symbolism of Royalty used by The Ancient Egyptians, Mesopotamians and Persians – The ''Winged Sun'' is the image of a set of Wings (Eagle, Falcon or Hawk), which are connected in the center or apex by the image of a Sun. In Ancient Egypt, The Winged Dun also contained the imaged of Reptiles (Snake) which identified both The Upper and Lower Kingdoms. The symbolism as often used (carved into stone or drawn), very much as a much later Signet of Royalty. Only Kings or Pharaohs were so honored with the image of The Winged Sun.
