The ''Swallower of Sinners''

If a Soul passed thru to The 2nd Gate in The Egyptian Underworld, They may encounter an Entity called The ‘’Swallower of Sinners’’. Portrayed in Funerary art as a giant ‘’Flaming Snake’’ (perhaps a Cobra), This Being was tasked with control over The ‘’Lake of Fire’’ (into which those judged unworthy in life, were sentenced to be tormented for all Eternity). The ‘’Swallower’’ could ‘’smell Sin’’ or Evil on a Soul. Often, The Being would simply swallow up the errant Soul and take it to The Lake – thus determining that it would be a waste of time for ‘’formal judgment’’ – later on.
