As a French Ship-of-The Line, The “Royal Louis” was launched in 1667 from Toulon, France. She was tasked with being the Flagship of France's “Mediterranean Fleet”. Said to displace 300-tons, “Royal Louis” was 175-feet long and stood 25-feet (beam). She carried 118-cannon of various calibers and poundage. She crewed up to 250 Officers and men. Many considered her construction to be poor and fast. It should be noted, that she reported not major issues in the 30 years of Service. Oddly, she returned to France only twice in her career. She was broken up in 1694.
