Seen as a ''Modern'' Warship of Soviet Russia during earlt World War II, The ''Tashkent''-Class of Destroyers were originally planned for a (4) Ship production run. However, using ''borrowed'' Naval technology (of the time), Soviet Russia could not secured proper materials for production - save one. Commissioned ''Tashkent'', The Destroyer was launched in 1940. She supported Soviet land operations in Sevastpol and Odessa (1942). Damaged by German Air strikes, ''Tashkent'' was sunk (but refloated). due to damaged which could not be fixed - She would see limited service as a fixed, floating battery until 1944 (when it was decided to scrap Her). Displacing 2,800-tons, ''Tashkent'' was crewed by (250) Officers and Men. Her length was 485-feet with a Beam of 45-feet. Propulsion was provided by Twin boilers and steam turbines. Rated surface speed was 23-mph. Her armament included: (3) 5-inch Main Guns, (6) 5mm AA Guns and (6) 12.7 Deck Machine Guns. Both ''Tashkent'' and Her future Ships also support (24) Anti-Ship Mines.
