A Pre-Dreadnought Battleship of The Imperial German Navy, SMS "Kiaser Barbarossa I" was built between 1898 and 1900. She was of The "Kiaser Friedrich III"-Class of vessels. She displaced 13,000-tons, was 130-feet tall and stood 25-feet. She was propelled by 12 water cooled boilers that fed 3 expanding Vertical steam engines. "Kiaser Barbarossa I" could achieve 18-knots and travel 3,400-miles. Her compliment of crew was 640. "Kiaser Barbarossa I" was entirety steel and iron, with various levels of plate protection. These ranged from 9 to 12-inches from her hull-like to her Upper Decks and super structure. Her armament included (4) 40 Caliber Auto-Guns, (18) 15cm Guns, (12) 8.8mm Guns, (12) 12 Pound Cannon and 4 Torpedoes. Her initial deployment was as a Coastal Defense Ship for Imperial Germany during World War I. Later she served briefly as a Training vessel. "Kiaser Barbarossa I" was broken up for scrap in 1920.
