The ''Shen Ring'' was a form of Royal Egyptian Protection, worn by Pharaoh (King) or Male Princes only. The term itself – means ''to encircle and protect''. As such it was an important piece of Religious Jewelry seen to ward off ''Evil''. The Shen Ring (worn around the neck) was shaped to resemble The God Horus and The Ram of Ba (or ''strength of The Soul''). The first recorded use of The shen Ring dates to 2,680 BC and Ancient Egypt's 3rd Dynasty.
