A Serdab was a small orifice built within some Egyptian Tombs. These enclosures had a small tunnel-like opening. Inside The Serdab was placed a small statue of the deceased Ka – or Spirit. The enclosure was used to allow The Ka to leave The Tomb at Night, and to return with the Morning. Even with the final ''Sealing of The Tomb'' Ceremony, it was tradition to leave a small slit open at the entrance to The Serdab for The Ka to ''access''.
