This Trading company was established by Czar Paul I in 1799. It was to foster productive trade concerns between Russia and California. First (under Spanish Control) and next with The young United States, The Company operated a successful fur trading business in Northern California. Established at Fort Ross, this Company continued trading until 1814. The Company (and it's ships), identified themselves with this flag. Featuring the Imperial Russian colors of white red and blue (arranged in horizontal bars at the bottom to the middle of the flag, the flag also featured an Imperial Eagle (in full color scheme) in the upper left Canton.
