Born in Sussex, England – Peter Love was a Pirate who operated off Scottish waters in the early 17th Century. His ship The “Priam”, attacked mostly small Merchant vessels. His base of operations was the small Island of Lewis (Outer Hebrides). Love entered into an “agreement” with the Outlaw Neil MacLeod. (who would in turn help Love “sell” his “takes” for a cut in profits). With no “honor among thieves” - MacLeod betrayed Love to Scottish Authorities (no doubt as a deal to save his own “neck”). Captured, tried and convicted – Love and 6 of his Crew were hung in 1610 (MacLeod would still “Dance The Hangman's Jig” 3 years later).
