By Crusader1307

Created originally by Queen Tamar of Georgia (now Russia) in 1184 – The Order was awarded to Nobility who had “rightfully” served The Queen and The Kingdom. To distinguish The Order from other “Military and Chivalric” ones, a Double-Headed Eagle was first employed (for a Badge device). A Red Cross was placed behind the image and was further set on a solid bursting Sun. The Entirety of the Device was set on a Crimson Red Sash (another first). Now it is only issued to Royalty associated with The Tamar (and marriage) Lines.
