An Ancient Egyptian (Thebes) Goddess associated with The Cobra (Snake), Meretseger was popular during Egypt's ''New Kingdom'' Period (1,550 BC). She was The Guardian of The Necropolis (Royal Cemeteries) of Thebes. Her name translated to ''She Who Loves Silence''. Shown in Human Form, Her ''Head'' is actually the body of The Cobra. This is to impart Her ''swift and just'' punishment to those who may transgress against those buried at the sacred site.
