A ‘’Meket’’ was an ancient form of Religious Protective necklace, worn in Egypt – as long ago as 5,000 BC. They were designed for multiple functions. Most Meket’s were crafted for pregnant Mothers. Normally, upon confirmation of Life, a Mother would have a Meket made and dedicated to a wide variety of Gods and Goddesses tasked with Protection of The Unborn. The Meket had to be worn constantly, to ‘’work’’. After a ‘’successful’’ Birth, a Mother could then remove The Meket. Examples of surviving Meket’s show such symbolism as The ‘’Spine of Osiris’’, ‘’Ra’’ and ‘’Horus’’. Some Meket’s were designed for ‘’Warrior’’ usage. Crafted and Blessed, They were worn by important Officers and Leaders as a means of ensuring success in Battle.
