Dating to perhaps 50 BC, ‘’Medjed’’ is seen as a very unusual ‘’Deity’’ in ancient Egypt. He is an Underworld ''Guardian’’ known also as ‘’The Smiter’’. It seems Medjed is only found in The Book of The Dead, and was tasked by The God Osiris to destroy all those who tried to use ‘’The Book’’ for their own profit and prestige. Medjed is extremely bizarre in appearance. He (assuming Medjed IS a ‘’He’’, is nothing more that a ‘’Skirt’’ or ‘’Sheet’’. Human legs and a waist protrude from the bottom. Resembling a ’’half a body’’ (at best), Medjed as two eyes at the top of the cloak. From these ‘’burning beams of The Sun’’ appear to ‘’cut down’’ Offenders to Osiris.
