Dating to ancient Egypt's 16th Century BC – Maahes was a ''God of War''. Son of Ptah, Maahes was portrayed as half-Lion and half-Human. He would also be invoked for Protection against foul weather, knives and the disposition of Enemy Captives by ''devouring them''. Maahes had numerous Temples and Shrines throughout Upper Egypt.
