A component of Ancient Egyptian Beliefs in The Afterlife – ‘’Maa Kheru’’ was translated to mean ‘’True of Voice (or Speech)''. The concept came into play when a Soul (properly prepared by Embalmers), began it’s journey into The Afterlife. After being accepted into The Underworld by Anubis – a Soul was judged. As we have discussed, this required The ‘’Ceremony of The Weighing of The Heart’’.  A Soul had their heart ‘’weighed on a Scale’’ to determine ‘’good or bad’’ motivations during Life. If the Soul was judged ‘’pure’’ or righteous, The Soul was allowed to ‘’proclaim’’ such. This acclamation was The Maa Kheru. Funerary Priests (after monitoring all signs and portents during death), also determined One’s Maa Kheru. As such, the symbolism (Hieroglyphs) of ‘’True of Voice’’ was added to their names (officially) or by way of example – ‘’Aten Maa Kheru’’. The practice would continue in practice throughout most of Egypt’s Dynasties.
