Dating from The Egyptian Middle Kingdom Era and The 12th Dynasty – ‘’Hedjhotep’’ is somewhat confusing as a Deity. Portrayed as both Male and Female, The Deity was Patron of Cloth and Fabrics. Later, this also included weaving. Still later, Hedjhotep was associated with Funerary Rites, in particular as Patron (Protector) of the cloth used to wrap The Dead (Mummies). Having a dedicated Cult and Priesthood into The New Kingdom Era (16th Century BC), The deity was further invoked to cure ailments of The Stomach.
