Created by Germany in 1938, The ''Anschluss Medal'' was a Commemorative Award to recognize that Countries Annexation of Austria into the ''Greater German Reich''. The Medal was given to any Military or Civilian Personnel who actively participated and assisted with the Annexation. Over 300,000 such Awards were issued. They would remain in wear until after World War II. The Medal was a circular Device which featured Two Germans ''advancing The Flag'' (National Socialism). The Reverse featured the wording ''Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Fuhrer'' (''One, People, One Nation, One Leader''). This was the ''mantra'' of The German National Party. The attached Ribbon was Red with a series of small White and Black Stripes.
