Another piece of Ladies ''apparel'' (headwear) the aptly named ''Doll Hat'' was yet another example of fshion popularized by the Contemporary Painters (Artists) of the Era (18th and 19th Century). Wealthy Ladies who sat for their portraits began to adopt very small, almost ''Doll-like'' small brimmed hats to wear. Made of various material, it was common to cant the Hat off the front crown (forehead) hairline (attacked by pins and later silk ribbons). This gave a ''jaunty style'' to the Wearer. Associated with both France and England, The Doll Hat was also adopted by some Middle-Class Ladies emulating Women of ''stature''. Dying out by the mid-19th Century, a brief revival happened in the early 20th Century. Some ''later examples'' can also be found in High Fashion photography in the 1960s in Europe.
