The ''Chase'' Flag, or as it was better known as the First Provisional Florida Flag, was one of the first Banners used to represent a ''Confederate'' State of Florida, at the start of The American Civil War of 1861-65. The flag was named after Colonel William Chase, who commanded some of the first Floridians who volunteered for War Service. The Flag was used by over 100-Men who stormed The Federal Garrison at The Pensacola Naval Yards. It was described as having (7) Red Stripes and (6) White Stripes. A Blue Field occupied the upper Left Canton. Into this was placed a single White, (5) Pointed Star. The flag greatly resembled the US National Flag. The Flag was flown from January of 1861 until March – when the standardized Confederate 1st National Flag was adopted.
