Said to have been designed by Confederate General John Magruder, this Flag/Guidon was used to represent his Army of The Peninsula during it's protection of the Confederate Capitol of Richmond. Larger than a normal Guidon, yet designed as such, the Upper portion was White – with a Red identical Banner underneath. No wording or imagery was used. When General Robert E. Lee formed The Army of Northern Virginia, Magruder's “Army” was absorbed into it – and his “Flag” was no longer used.
