British M1760 42-Pound Mortar

A popular portable Mortar used by British Forces, they were brought to America during The French & Indian Wars. An excellent weapon for besieging heavier fortifications, the 42-Pound Mortar had a 2,000 yard effective range. Used in concert with Solid Shot, many of these Mortars were the first used by Colonial American Forces (when captured). Crewed by 5 men, they weighed around 800 pounds.
