The Australian Bren Gun Carrier was a British produced weapons carrier used mostly by Commonwealth National Armies. Over 113,000 Production Models were deployed. The Bren Gun was a primary Medium to large Caliber Automatic Weapon (Machine Gun), used against Enemy Infantry Formations. Considered a Light Gun Carrier, it was manufactured by The Vickers-Armstrong Company. The reliable and long serving weapons system would serve in both the British, Commonwealth and several other National Armies until 1967. A dual-tracked Vehicle, The Bren Gun Carrier weighed 3-tons and was powered by a Ford V-8 Engine (85-HP). Maximum speed was 30-mph. Armor plating throughout ranged from 2.5 to 3-inches. Crewed by (3), The Bren Carrier would also served as an initial design for many other National Armies future Light Troop support Vehicles.
