Bavarian Order of The Swan

Founded in Bavaria in 1440, The Order was also known as “The Order of Our Dear Lady” (in reference to The Virgin Mary). They were a Noble Order, conferred to Titled persons who had done their Monarch a Noble and unselfish deed. Their insignia was a Swan, surmounted by an image of The Virgin Mary.
