Apophis

With regards to the popular Sci-Fi Television Show Stargate , the real Deity known as Apophis was not from Outer Space. Rather, he was the Great Adversary to The Sun God, Ra. He was seen as the embodiment of dissolution, darkness and non-existence. Depicted as a Great Serpent , Apophis began in the first primordial waters. He is known to relentlessly attack (never stopping). He is mostly depicted in Egyptian art as being dismembered, stabbed or otherwise subdued. Later in his development , Apophis is seen with a huge circular eye - known as The Eye of Apophis . This eye was capable of great evil and would destroy or corrupt all who gazed into it.
