Anuket

 From Egypt's 13th Dynasty, The Goddess Anuket is seen as the personification of The River Nile. She is initially shown as a human woman. Also shown holding The Ankh, Anuket was later portrayed as a Gazelle. Responsible for the protection of the life giving Nile, many Festivals and Temples were built to honor her. Anuket began to wane somewhat in popularity after the 18th Dynasty.
