''Anat'' (and variations on Her name), was a major Goddess in The Mesopotamian Region, going back perhaps as far as 3 BC. ''She'' would be ''acquired'' by The Egyptians during their 16th Dynasty (1,650 BC). Anat was worshiped as a Goddess of War and had a rather gruesome ''History''. She is often portrayed in Human Female Form, either wielding an Axe or Club. Anat was ''noted'' for ''slicing and hacking off'' the heads and ears of Her Enemies. She collected their ears and wore them as a belt (or girdle). Heads were displayed attached to Her Chest and Back (almost as a type of Armor). Famed Pharaoh Ramesses II made Anat His ''Patron Goddess'' in battle and built several Temples in Her honor. He even named His Chariot Horses ''Anat''.
