American ''Schenectady Liberty'' Flag

An early Colonial “Protest” Flag, Liberty Flags were flown in Town, Village and City Centers on “Liberty Poles”. First seen in 1771 in New York, they were designed as a protest to the many British taxes being imposed upon The Colonies. The Flags (small at 3x3 feet), were Blue in Field with the White wording “LIBERTY” sewn in the center.
