Formed in 1776 to support The American Revolutionary War against Great Britain, The 2nd Connecticut composed of (8) Companies of Infantry (1,000 Officers and Men) and fought in several key Battle of The War (to include Brandywine, Germantown and Monmouth). Casualties would cause them to be re-formed into The 22nd Connecticut in 1778.


Their Battle Colors were a Red Field upon which was affixed The Arms of The Colony of Connecticut. The Latin Phrase ''Qui Transtulit Sustinet'' was placed translated to mean ''He Who Brought Us Here Will Take Care of Us''.
