Yue Lao

A Chinese Deity, ‘’Yue Lao’’ was associate with Marriage and Love. Is was depicted most, as an ‘’Old Man under a Full Moon’’. As was common in many ancient Chinese Marriage customs, when a Couple stood before a Priest, Their wrists were bound with a silken cord. This cord was made by Yue Lao, and symbolized the Love and Peace, a Couple was destined to find together. The cord could never be severed except by death. The visage of an ‘’Old Man’’’ was seen by The Chinese as ‘’Wisdom’’.
